Miletos is perfect for brunch(smashed avo with feta) and an afternoon pick me up coffee and cake. I adore the rustic interior and eclectic furniture — it’s like visiting nanna.

You know when you’re halfway through a meal and something dies inside of you? It might be an artery clogging, or your liver shutting down. In my case it was hope. Like a young child who still believes in Santa Clause, I thought Mileto’s was going to be the new kid on the block. It had everything going for it: location, rustic style, and the appearance of an interest in food. I ordered the Atlantic eggs, perhaps a risky choice at any coveted establishment. Thick, fat cuts of brown-toned salmon accompanied by chunks of egg, altogether doused in oil. What a treat. And so the hope in me died, replaced by the bitter reality that not only would I have to pay for this meal but I’d have to eat another one because I couldn’t go on. The outdoor area always seems pretty packed though so perhaps they’ve improved. I know I’m not game to give it a second chance.

Mileto’s has a really nice feeling the moment you walk in the door. You get to see a range of produce laid out deli style and a sandwich bar as well as some nice muffins made fresh that morning. The photos on the had me confused for a little while as I tried to work out where they were taken, nonetheless they are very nice. I sat with my family on a large dining room table which I have always like the idea of in a café as it brings a nice homely feeling. I had a fresh made to order sandwich which was really nice. The staff was also really nice and happy to pretend to laugh at my stupid jokes I can’t help myself make when I am being served.
