I love this bar, it’s an outside bar right on the water with the Opera house as a backdrop and the harbor bridge in front of you. Beautiful place on the wharf to watch the sunset. The live music makes it more serene and romantic. I ordered a glass of champagne perfect for chilling on my lounger on the grass, listening to the live music and watching the sunset. A must visit in Sydney.

What a great location for a bar at the end of the wharf… see what i did there: P. huh! Having decided to have some graduation drinks i thought why not try this place out as i’ve always wanted to visit but have rarely been in the area. As you get to Pier 4, take the lift up to level 2, turn right and walk all the way down. It ‘s at least a 5 minute walk. Don’t follow our way and walk around the whole pier and then be told that the lift was just at the front :/ As you arrive take a seat and order at the bar, There is lots of large tables indoors, a smoking section with great harbour and bridge views. They also have big rooms on both left & right hand side that could cater for functions. They have Pimms, Sangria(red & white) and Aperol jugs which are pretty dang tasty. Stay till the sun goes down so you can enjoy the colourful lights of Luna Park. To share we order some chips with smoked paprika aioli $ 9 to start and then everyone got their own mains. I got the Prawn linguine and that was quite filling and nice. Overall, a lovely first visit and will indeed be back in when the weather warms up.

We were here for a Cumulus wine tasting dinner. Plenty of glasses of wine matched with the food prepared by the restaurant. Our experience was really to see how the restaurant delivered a set meal for around 40 people. We were separated from the main restaurant with an excellent view of the harbour, bridge and Luna Park. The service was excellent and so was the food. Getting there was a little different. Maybe when Barangaroo is completed there will be better transport but we walked from Wynyard as we were after public transport as our drinking was not going to be very responsible. In fact, we were able to imbibe and eat leisurely and perhaps have been able to drive home. The walk from Wynyard was no real problem.

Stunning views especially at night! The bar is a bit hidden and a little hard to find(which I suppose is in my favour as there is less of a chance of it being packed!). The food and drinks are nothing special, but the views make the bar worth visiting!

We have a new con-ten-dah! No longer do you need to actually be a high-falutin’, horn-tootin’ theatregoer to haunt the halls of the finger wharves(Hi Russell!), now you can just chuck on some glad rags and head down to the Bar At The End Of The Wharf for some drinkypoos and to look cool and to get sozzled in the shadow of the great steel behemoth herself. The views are great, so is the beer choice — Little Creatures, Coopers, a big range of Young Henrys(all $ 8), lotsa wine, and some choice cocktails on offer. There’s bar snacks too, I tried the beef sliders and the patties were juicy and loaded with melted cheddar. You can hire the fishbowl balcony room thing out with $ 4K minimum soend, but the main bar is moody and cool and just as good without the expenno part.

It can be a bit tricky getting to this bar because all I knew about it was that it was at the end of the wharf, however when I walked to the end of the wharf I discovered that it was on the second floor and there did not seem to be any way in. However, walking back to the foot of the wharf I discovered an elevator which took me up to the second floor. This bar is connected to the Sydney Theatre Company, and as you walk down the corridor to the bar you will past a number of advertisements for the up and coming plays(the theatres are in this building as well), photos of plays past, and even actors in costume rehearsing their lines. The bar itself is quite pleasant, with harbour views, and three outdoor balconies(with only one that allows smoking). As can be expected, the type of crowd that generally visit this bar are the theatre goers and, I suspect, the actors and production crews themselves.

As this is the restaurant at my work place I am here pretty much every day and even some of my days off because you really can’t beat the quality of this bar/restaurant. Whether you want a bite to eat and a drink before or after a show or if you just want to soak up the atmosphere and the view this is the place for you. The menu is constantly changing so it’s hard to recommend a specific dish but I will say that you should always try the cocktail/meal themed with the show you are about to see. It completes the experience!

Rating breakdown: View: 5 stars Food: 3 stars Beer: 5 stars Beer selection includes Young Henry’s on tap, Little Creatures and White Rabbit in the bottle. Their only mainstream beer is Boag’s Premium Light. Beer is reasonable priced at 7.50/glass, 20/jug(3 glasses). Food is good, but the portions are quite small for the prices charged. We had the chips(delicious), the chorizo(good), and the wagyu sliders(good). Also grabbed a couple cookies on display as I have no willpower tonight. Location and view are amazing. It was surprisingly easy to grab a table on a Friday night. I’m assuming it’s the long walk down to the end of the wharf that deter people. Don’t let it deter you.

Quality location for romantic drinks — I stumbled across this hidden away bar and was blown away by its view. The service was great and the cocktails — made perfectly. Yet to try the food, however I did some passing plate watching and It looked amazing.

Theatre, it’s great. Except when it isn’t. But that doesn’t matter, because you can always head to the bar afterwards and tear it apart. And when it comes to theatre-bars, the STC’s Bar at the End of the Wharf is the equivalent of the Complete Works of Shakespeare(minus the problem plays). The location(at the end of the wharf… the clue is in the name) is a winner, surrounded by the harbour and the bridge looming nearby, but the interior is just as impressive and makes the most of the old timber wharf. The drinks list and menu are a worthy match to such an impressive venue. The only surprising feature is the fact that I’ve always been able to walk in and still get a spot by the water — perhaps the bar’s links to the arts triggers Sydneysiders’ cultural cringe, or people just don’t know there’s a bar here. Whatever the reason, the Bar at the End of the Wharf is definitely worth a visit. With or without a trip to the theatre.

So, the name is a bit of a mouthful, but the view is a definite draw card for this bar located at, well, the end of the wharf. The location lends itself to a pre theater venue and it works well as such. But, the view is an attraction for those who may not be performing art enthusiasts. A word of warning for women. It’s a long walk to the end of the wharf and it’s hard to avoid your heels getting stuck in the wooden floor boards. You have two options. Break out the ballet flats with a swift shoe change near the entrance, or walk on your tippy-toes to avoid those heels sinking in the cracks. Men, be aware of this, and slow your pace. When you eventually reach the bar, you’re going to find soaring ceilings and postcard harbour views. In fact, you’d usually be thinking ‘tourist trap’, but you know this is not your typical tourist hang out. We love the vibe — a mix of artsy folk and corporates of all ages. There’s not a hipster insight. Not surprisingly, the food menu focuses on share plates and nibbles. Think ploughman’s platters, sliders and hot chips with chipotle mayo. Pretty much exactly what you’re looking for for a pre-theatre venue. Should you visit the bar sans theater ticket for a drink only, we suggest you pop across the road for dinner at Café Sopra at Fratelli Fresh.

This is a little known, chilled-out bar with a jaw-dropping view of Sydney harbour. The Bar at the End of the Wharf might seem a little out of the way, and you do have to walk all the way down to the end of the(STC) wharf to find it, but it’s a pretty sweet situation once you finally get there. This is not just a bar for folks during theatre intervals — the bar is open for everyone, and they have cocktails, wines, beers and gourmet bar food. There are heated outdoor areas(pretty nice at this brrrrrr time of year), lots of tables to sit down at(inside) and, I’m serious, they have a PINGPONGTABLE! Yes. Oh yes. The bar-tenders range from unprofessional young boys in waistcoats(not that I’m objecting), to eccentric Fabio-types, who wear big rings and refuse to button up their shirts, revealing hairy chests(really not a good look). But really, this place is in such a fabulous location, and unless there’s a specific event booked in, it’s never crowded.
