I really don’t want to share this café with anyone because its so damn perfect, but out of the kindness of my heart I will :) There cannot be a better location with water views, proximity to Sydney Dance Company, and also its never really that busy. Huh? How it is possible? That’s because its not visible on Hickson Rd and it gets overshadowed by Sydney Dance Café, Café Sopra and all of the other little eateries. But this is a great place to sit, relax with a book(in my case my laptop) and wile away the hours. I usually come early before a dance class and sit here with a coffee, maybe some toast. I saw a guy eating a sandwich here and its looked pretty good, might order it next time. The seating is all outdoors so if its rainy, windy or the weather is just plain bad, this place closes down. But as its getting warmer, they’ve put out some deckchairs(a la London Hyde Park style) and you can sit there with your coffee and bake. This is a lovely quiet café and at the moment still pretty much a secret to most. So shhhh!(ignore irony of me writing this review lol).

Simmer Café is a cute ‘hole in the wharf’ at Walsh Bay with a sort of bohemian Parisian courtyard vibe but perched of Sydney Harbor. Amazing right?! The café is just beautiful to sit at on a still Sydney summer day, but not so great if the wind picks up as the tables are already somewhat rickety. This is more a place where you would go for the atmosphere(maybe a coffee) rather than the food or the service which isn’t particularly standout. That said, it isn’t bad either if you’re after basic café food.
