Every time I go to Sydney The Dough Collective is one of the first places I visit. All the food is so delicious looking and fresh. The prices are great too. My favorite items are the chocolate chip scones and dark horse. You have to give this place a try.

FREEESSSSSHHHHBAKEDDDDDDDBREADDDDDDDDD I’m going to claim I’ve been coming here since day one of their grand opening celebration but what’s taken me so long to write a review is beyond me. Regardless, you need to check this place out Unilocalers! Freshly baked bread of all sorts prepared daily. There are even samples you can try before you buy. If you’re looking the get the biggest bag for you buck, they have day-old scones in packs of three for about $ 3. Oh! They coffee too if you’re into stuff like that… My favorites: Dark Horse — Belgian dark chocolate chips, NUTELLA and cream cheese Choc-nana — Fresh Bananas, Belgian dark chocolate chips and cream cheese

Glorified breadtop or gourmet bakery? Very neat and tidy store layout with all the breads on display and samples to try. Mix of sweet and savoury delights with some quirky combinations like the Dark Horse — a dark chocolate and cream cheese filled in a shape or a horse shoe. Recommended for an after work snack or nice to grab a quick lunch bite.

They have free samples so you can try it before you buy. Fresh, great quality, huge portions and variety of both sweet and savoury flavours. You can check out the schedules outside to see what’s baking. My favourites are two cheeses, cheese and walnut, the pizza shaped cheese bread(not sure what its called), chocolate bread. They also have coffee and they use single origin beans. Great for my quick coffee fix without going to Surry Hills.

So I am going to miss this place the most from our Sydney trip. How we dont have one of these in the States is beyond me. The variety of breads are so vast and wide, y personal fav was the chocolate strawberry and the three cheese breads. Best part they have samples of almost all of them!!! SAMPLES!!! I went carb heavy at this place and my unborn fetus danced inside my belly each time. I love you Dough Collective, come to America. Or wait don’t I need to lose the baby weight once our son comes.

This should should be a standalone tourist attraction. Seriously, if you’re a carbaholic, you’ll be in bready bliss. They showcase their breads as if you’re viewing historic artifacts, behind glass jewel cases. The only wonderful difference is that you can slide open to fill up your tray. Even if you’re not on the market for some bread, Its still really fun to browse around. They offer free samples to lure you into making the purchase… And, trust me, one bite and you will be! Yes, you’ve officially been warned! :P If you’re just in town for holiday, go here… well, go here even if you live here cause it’s just plain yummy.

Thank you to my fellow Unilocalers(esp. Barry, who has been a strong advocate of this place, hehe) for the heads up! This is a great place to buy a quick, but substantial, bite. I love how they have free samples so I can taste stuff before eating it.(I’ve been burned too many times ordering food that looked and sounded yummy but tasted pretty differently to what I was expecting.) After sampling um, nearly everything, I decided on a gourmet hotdog and mustard roll, and a triangular shaped cheese bread. My bill came to $ 8.45, which was pretty good considering they were pretty big.(Was going to eat both for lunch, but I ended up getting full. I had the cheese bread for the next day — still good!) My coworker was able to grab a chocolate bun for less than $ 2 — having sampled that, I can confidently say it was yummy. Card transactions are allowed for purchases $ 10+ only.

Y’all. This place is no joke. Went here as part of their opening weekend, and unapologetically elbowed my fellow browsers out of the way in order to shove my greedy mitts into the bags of cut-up sample bread that were provided for our tasting pleasure. Good LAWD! Think like a Breadtop, except actually good, and with flavours you want to eat(sorry, pork floss buns.) Soft. Chewy. Doughy. Dense, yet light. Fresh. Flavourful. Delicious!!! In loads of tantalizing flavours. Garlic baguettes, ham pizza loaf, chocolate chip bread, sweet cream cheese buns… I ended up circling the whole place twice,(im)patiently waiting for the hordes to disperse so I could continue sampling the wares. Then, when I was done, I went outside for air– just to turn back around to stuff my face. «Just one more,» my inner fat kid implored. «You haven’t tried the German hot dog roll! They just brought more samples out!» Too overcome by doughy, yeasty fumes to resist, I tried one more. Then another… I left with my dignity barely intact. I am now on my way to evening drinks in town, feeling rather uncomfortably like a stuffed sausage. But who cares? Maybe they’ll still be open later when I’m stumbling home off my face, feeling like a bit of a snack…

Step aside Bourke Street Bakery, you’ve been dethroned. For the busy person who doesn’t have too much time for a sit-down meal, this place has it all. — Excellent quality food/bread — Good coffee(Single Origin Beans! No need to trek down to Surry Hills) — Great pricing(for a fiver you can actually eat something that will fill you up) — Accepts cards and doesn’t seem to have a minimum amount limit(because handling money and food is unhygienic!) — Cheap non-asian food(variety is good) right in the middle of Chinatown — Another Good coffee place in Chinatown — A 5 star location — Always busy during the day so the food is always fresh No doubt this place will be another cheap food place I’ll be frequenting.
