5 tips for you: 1) Cash only! 2) It’s 50 cents extra for some things, like decaf or an extra shot. 3) You get a mini biscuit on your drink! Yummers! 4) Find it in a little alley way. 5) Drinks are more expensive if you dine in, probably bc you’re taking up precious space in this little shop.

I heard about the great coffee in Australia so made sure the first thing I ordered when I got to Sydney was a coffee. Walking around this area I stumbled upon Bluebird Coffee. It’s a small little joint but it’s pretty cool inside. I ordered a coffee with cream and sugar. I was chatting with my friend and heard some strange noises which I thought was coming from their espresso machine. When they called me up I left my friend to get my coffee… I ended up with a coffee with whip cream and sugar. This explains why the guy looked at me funny when I ordered it. He must have thought I was an idiot :) I was going to send it back but I wasn’t sure if this was a thing here so tried it. Yup, it sucked.

This is now the second and final time I will head to this café I ordered a take away baked good and paid to much for it and had to wait five minutes for the sever to hand it over to me for take away after I asked him Why are they do slow ? They have three people working behind the counter The same thing happened when I ordered coffee for sit down I would say location is very good but service and price needs a lot of attention

Expensive More style than substance Had the big breakfast it was ordinary Asked for a double espresso it was horribly bitter For the price there is better Avoid for breakfast — generic coffee experience

Wow. I’m guessing those 4 and 5 star reviews are either from friends or people who don’t have a very balanced view to contrast their feedback. I can only describe the Eggs Benedict as a cruel joke — there were no cameras to be found however. The order was quick — a slice of bread, not toasted, with raw spinach sprinkled on top. One poached egg and a few squirts of store bought hollandaise. The coffee was mediocre at best. The customer service was shocking. Save your money and your time. Good luck with this one.

Do you know what I love? When a café surprises me and gives me something I wasn’t expecting. I had seen the raving reviews here and had to confirm what others had experienced — good coffee. The service was fast and efficient, but what makes this place worthy of 5 stars is the coffee and the little treat on it. This is the first café that I’ve been to in Sydney that placed a little homemade biscuit on top of my coffee. That little touch just made me experience so wickedly awesome. Their coffee brew is delicious and strong, and although their milk was not the best velvety foam I’ve had for a flat white($ 3.50 for a small, increments of 50c for larger sizes), the aroma and taste made up for it. I am so keen on coming back to try their food. If their coffee is anything to go on, I don’t think I’ll be disappointed!

Unilocal has been bugging me to write a review for Bluebird coffee. Whenever I’m on my Unilocal homepage, the ‘reviews box’ always writes…“have you written a review for BlueBird Coffee yet?” Haha maybe Unilocal noticed my café addiction :) Overall I rate this place a 3.8. Food: 3 — Got a vanilla cannoli. I’ve had better. The outer crust was kind of soft and not firm enough. Portion wasn’t great for its price either. Wouldn’t come to BlueBird just for the food… I’d say its coffee game is much stronger. Drinks: 4 — Cappuccino! Huge mug. Loved it! Amazing coffee art too. Service: 3.5 — Standard service. Went at a less busy time, so I only saw one server. Was helpful when I asked for wifi. Atmosphere: 4 — Great café atmosphere! Interesting interior design. the hanging lightbulbs were very unique. Loved the outdoor seatings too. Misc: 4.5 — Wifi always a plus! It’s so hard to find a restaurant with wifi in Australia. I got to do some work at the café :) Only complaint is that sometimes people smoke near the outdoor seatings. So watch out!

Coffee was just okay. Great Ricotta cheesecake from Papa’s, though.

The coffee here is amazing. I love to stop by during the day and just chill out with a cup on my breaks. Its really the best coffee I have had in town.

My partner and my go-to coffee spot in the area(and sometimes even when we aren’t in the area we still make our way over – we’ve been burned by subpar coffee at other cafes but it’s always good here). The latte is smooth and frothy and their chai latte(both the standard and the dirty chai) is tasty as well. Our only complaint, which is largely a matter of taste, is that their green tea latte is quite sweet. The staff is very friendly, there’s wifi and it’s tucked away from the shopping area’s foot traffic so you can take your time to have your coffee while keeping yourself entertained on your portable electronic device of choice.

I’m sorry but, no. Walked in and asked for a menu but the girl barely speaks English and didn’t know what I ment. Only labels on half of the food so I’m not sure what was on most of sandwiches. The sandwich I had was nothing special. Now the cakes they have look pretty delicious. There was no water, no spoon with my coffee, and their coffee size is weird. Regular dine in was 8oz. It’s a typical city coffee shop that doesn’t deserve the reviews I read from my experience. Sorry.

Great coffee just inside Regent Place arcade. Don’t waste your money at the Gloria Jeans nearby, unless you like coffee milkshakes. And the iced coffees here are great too. But this is the best soy latte I’ve ever had. Perfect milk microfoam, tasty but not harsh coffee. A slight hint of spice — low acidity.

What a gem of a coffee shop. Quick, nice service, cookie with your coffee, great coffees and bites to eat and free wifi. Have visited on a few occasions, definitely recommend.

Really adorable little coffee shop tucked away in an alley between two buildings. It’s got a great, cosy vibe and delicious coffee and baked goods. The staff was really friendly and it is a great spot to hang out.

Stumbled across this café when I got off the bus near Bathurst Street. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, great coffee with delicious apricot and date toast. Doesn’t get much better than that! Good range of bites, so I’m keen to return when I’m looking for a coffee in the city.

The coffee here is exceptional — one of the best I’ve found in the Sydney CBD. The barista was passionate and knowledgable about his coffee and took the time to describe each of the beans available. My long black was divine — very smooth. Have been back a few times and each time the coffee is just as good.

Bluebird serves up a good brew for the area, but is missing something to take it to the next notch. Its not as strong as I like it and I found it missing that caffeine«bite» I chase. The café itself is cute and quiet, tucked not far away from bustling George Street. I went in for a breakfast hit and found the«large» bacon & egg roll with a coffee to be good value at $ 6. The«large» roll was probably about the size of my palm, but it was on display so I knew what I was getting, and with a full day of eating planned I didn’t want to fill up on breakfast. The roll was good, coffee was good, atmosphere and value was good. I’d certainly stop by again if I was in the area, but it’s not a place I’ll go out of my way for or get excited about.

Coffee was lovely. They have a special on with coffee and a bacon/egg roll, but don’t expect too much from the roll — its tiny! It’s like a sushi sized sample you can eat in two bites. Have to agree with the service, the staff are lovely and worthwhile coming just for their smiles. It’s quick too, but I went quite early so maybe that’s not saying much. Stop by and take a look.

So this has become one of my go to coffee places in the city. The coffee here is one of the best that you are going to get. They serve 3 different beans, all with a different texture and taste. So depending on how you drink your coffee depends on what you will order. Their fall back bean is the Ultimo which is made for milk drinks. I would not order this if you are planning on an espresso. However, when in doubt ask the barista. Not only is he knowledgeable but loves talking about his coffee. Ask to check out his coffee tattoo if you doubt. There is small amounts of food but nothing too fancy. They have cakes, muffins and treats made by Papas in Habberfield. So what is better than a great cup of coffee with Papas famous ricotta cheesecake or Nutella muffin. Whatever it is I can’t imagine it at the moment.

Update: Wifi is working(its not the same name as the café, just ask the friendly staff for details!) Other than that similar vibe to my previous review — good coffee and food(also cheap for the area). And plenty of tables(and some power) to hang out. Also like the fact that the coffee loyalty card is high tech(its a QR code which either goes in your wallet or has a keychain so you walk up and scan your keyring(no need to pull out your phone or use technology — technology/apps works best when you don’t have to use it)
