No trip to Fremantle is complete without a visit to Manna Wholefoods. I’d say it was the first of its kind — sustainable, organic, local, seasonal neighbourhood grocery store with all the modern trimmings like food, skincare and a café. I dropped in for Epsom sea salts(hello bathtime!) and picked up organic coconut lipbalm as well as gluten free flour and some other pantry stockers. They also sell organic fruits, vegetables, meats, wholefood dry goods, teas, spices, herbs, dairy, health supplements and Eco-conscious cleaning products. The café is amazing — full of gluten free, macrobiotic and vegan choices that really anyone would be thrilled to eat. Try the new turmeric latte — there’s tables inside and on the footpath, or they do takeaway — in case you want to Netflix and chill in a cosy night in.

A great place to go for healthy food that you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for. Delicious salads and so filling. Love walking through the shop and finding little goodies too!

Every vegan, whole food plant based eaters dream! From groceries to fresh food to café style meals and snacks, there’s something for everyone that is health and environmentally conscious. I personally recommend the vegan chocolate beetroot cake for a quick sweet treat. If you’re after Kombucha, vegan ice-creams and that hard to find vegan item, Manna is bound to have it.

Had such a fantastic Sunday brunch here with friends! Plenty to chose from for all tastes — I went for the paleo big brekkie — 2 slices of the most amazing paleo toast, mashed avocado, smoked salmon and topped with feta. And at $ 16 it was a bargain! I also picked up a chia pudding for after — perfect chia topped with coconut yoghurt and their own homemade granola(GF). Very good! Salads, wraps, raw cakes and bakes — it’s ideal for breakfast, lunch or snack. And the store itself has many tasty foods too. Lovely to see them supporting so many local producers. Highly recommend!

Any day of the week you’ll see people and their pups reclining in the sunshine enjoying freshly brewed coffees, hot crisp pastries and brightly coloured salads at Manna Wholefoods. Regardless of your dietary preferences, Manna is heaven for gourmet and good food that satisfies your belly and your soul. As well as the delicious café, the store stocks a range of great ingredients that are hard to find elsewhere as well as environmentally and socially responsible cleaning and household items and beauty products.

Vegetarian or Vegan? Gluten intolerant? Following a paleo or raw diet? Want to eat organic? With such specific diet needs it is often hard to eat out without feeling like a fussy food snob. Except at Manna. Here they cater for all and given the produce is organic and mostly created on premise I think their pricing is spot on. Yes it is more expensive than most other cafes but you’re paying for wholesome quality produce. Cafes which use Bonsoy soy milk for coffees are a lot rarer in Perth than Melbs so it makes me happy that Manna are on the Bonsoy bandwagon. It is organic and has no oil and sugar added. If I’d reviewed Manna a year ago I would have written that their salads and lunch food lacked seasoning but I’ve noticed an impressive shift and my brunching partners and I have been treated to some really great concoctions. One improvement they could make is to their payment system which is a bit clunky requiring you to hand back the receipt from the shop to the café in order to exchange for your treats. Their diverse, healthy and ethically sourced selection of hot, cold, sweet, savoury, raw & comfort foods and drinks will keep me coming back again and again.

Manna has really picked up their game. They’ve hired some friendly staff and although the prices have gone up for some things, it’s comparable to most places in perth of it’s calibre. Stay healthy.

I’ve been there for several times for lunch or for coffee. I love the wide range of salads options and meals that they offer. I recommend the Lebanese lunch on Wednesday and sometimes on Thursdays. The cakes are really tasty. However, I think that the portions of them are quite small for the prize(around $ 7Aud) you pay.

I love all things organic, vegetarian and gluten free however this place needed a good clean. There were flies everywhere which was a little off-putting whilst eating. The highlight however was their gluten free fudge chocolate cake mmm…

When a window display gets you salivating like Pavlov you know you’re going to be impressed with the real deal. Mana is a wholesome good quality food stop– either to forage and prepare at home or, to make the most of the café on site and indulge in a freshly made sandwich or smoothie. The selection of raw nuts and legumes is inspiring, as are the good health books to accompany them if you so choose. They support fair trade and every time I shop here I just feel good. Good about myself and the world I live in, for the quality of the produce you get the price difference isn’t too significant between here and a general store– but the impact on my body is tangible. Treat yourself to manna.

Comfort food for you might be chocolate cake or maybe macaroni cheese. For me, nothing beats that wholesome feeling you get when you down a bowl of chickpea or lentil curry. Wholesome comfort food is what Manna Wholefoods are all about and they never fail to zing me into inside-out bliss. The shop is dominated by an organic wholefoods store but they also has a small section for ready-made dishes of the vegetarian and organic kind. This is a Vegetarian or health nuts dream. The dishes are cooked lean and so, so tasty!!! I wish I lived closer to Fremantle; I’d be here every other day. The food on offer rotates regularly, but if it’s going, try the organic chickpea and pumpkin curry or a roasted stuffed capsicum. There is always a rainbow of salads too like raw beetroot, bean, potato and egg and the greenest of greens. What’s more are the servings are generous and prices are so reasonable. I usually eat half for lunch and box the rest for dinner; essentially getting two meals for the price of one!

As a vegan, I’m constantly on the lookout for amazing places to eat and shop. Manna Wholefoods and Café is very similar to Kakulas Sister and Kakulas Brother — they stock an amazing array of vegan, vegetarian, ethnic, organic and gluten free products. A word of warning though, the place is fairly hectic. The café and food store only has one entrance, making the place incredibly frantic. Upon my first visit I have absolutely no idea what to order, where to order, how much I can order or where I pay. I think the staff must be quite used to this as no one seemed to upset at my dilly-dallying. The way it works is like this — you choose what you want to eat or drink, order at one counter, go pay on the other side of the store, then return to where you originally ordered, pick up your food, then go find a seat. Incredibly confusing! Luckily, they make up for it with their delicious and healthy wares. I ordered a Brazil nut patty($ 5) and a Vegie Bake made of sweet potato, white beans and broccoli($ 8). The servings aren’t all that large, so the majority of the cost can be attributed to the nutritional value I suppose. I also liked the crowd that frequents the place — a group of eclectic, health enthusiasts are often found chatting about cruelty-free recipes over their organic meals. Afterwards, I decide it’s time for a treat! Inside the store there are some fridges up the back with a selection of organic, naturally sweetened, raw and/or vegan chocolates, fudges and ice creams. Incredible! I order $ 8 worth(!!!) of their chocolate/spirulina and mint/almond fudge. Best of all, I don’t even feel guilty afterwards!
