Wow, where do I start? I just love this place!!! The food was absolutely amazing, well presented and full of flavour! I had the Shakshuka, which was a baked egg on top of a delicious Moroccan style tomato spiced sauce. This was served with three pieces of sourdough on a gorgeous wooden board. My friends were absolutely rapt in their choices too. ‘E’ had the organic fruity toast which had generous amounts of fruit and nuts and was the best fruit toast she had ever eaten! My other friend ‘M’ ordered the Love in the Time of Cauliflower which she devoured and said was delicious. And ‘M’ also had the Tempeh and Vegan Kimchi side dish which she said was amazing and was the best kimchi she had ever eaten! It was such a delight to find a café that served so many vegetarian and vegan dishes that my friends could actually choose from. Usually we go out for a meal and there is only 1 or 2 vegetarian options. There are also many gluten free dishes available. We sat outside in the gorgeous fresh air, watching the world go by. Plenty of seating options both inside and out, lots of tables and chairs and loved the funky couches inside. The service was wonderful, special shout out to Tiffany, so friendly and very knowledgable on all dishes and ingredients. We were able to jump on the blue cat bus from Fremantle train station and this brought us a street away from the café. Then a short walk to the next main road and back on the cat bus back to the train station. They are looking at changing the menu very soon but are keeping their popular menu items. Definitely ordering the Kimchi next time!

I wanted to love this place, but I have to admit, the flavors just didn’t taste super delicious. Maybe it was just what I ordered. But my breakfast across the street at Little Lefroys the day before was way better. I love that they have a whole grain sourdough, kimchi and tempeh. But they just need to work on their flavors. Using a little more salt would be a start, but that’s not all it would need. Also, they were out of the Cauliflower breakfast two days in a row, which I was super disappointed about. Maybe I just hit them on off day

I’ve been here for brunch a few times now, i think i’m becoming a regular. Every time my almond milk or soy milk flat whites are on point(and they don’t charge extra for nut mylk!) The vego corny dog, complete with vegan kimchi was a hit with my friend and i love the ‘sides’ including tempeh and kimchi which was delicious and the kale and silverbeet which was also really nice and super filling. The first few times i went the service was the only thing letting them down but today i noticed there’s been a few staff replaced and the service was flawless! Also my new found love is the muesli with coconut whip. omnomnomnom.

Thought I’d pop in and try out this newly revamped café. Wow what a delight! I ordered the Magic Mushrooms which was a beautifully presented concoction of field and oyster mushrooms covering a yummy quinoa rosti. This was accompanied by a smooth creamy mushroom pannacotta which perfectly complimented the textures and flavours of the other elements on the plate. It really was beautifully cooked, delicious and surprisingly filling. For the tea connoisseur’s out there like me I’ll also like to mention Across the Road’s generosity in their tea provisions. Across the Road give«real loose leaf» tea, none of this teabag nonsense — after all who goes out to a café to get teabag tea… that’s like giving a coffee drinker instant coffee! …and they happily provide refills of hot water so that you can enjoy a fresh cup of tea as you sit back and savour the feeling of your full belly :-) Definitely will be returning soon to try the other interesting items on the menu — recommend you try it too :)

Fantastically consistent and consistently fantastic. It’s the kind of menu that confuses some people but delights the others! Vegan options and organic mylks to boot, comfy couches and friendly staff, great tunes and board games and books. Across the road is only just getting started but I look forward to the future.

New café in South Freo, just across the road from Little Lefroy’s. Great quick service and reasonable pricing. Unfortunately coffee wasn’t fabulous and came out 15 mins after ordering and we had finished our meals. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They provide alternative milks and some gluten free options also!
