Take a stroll down South Terrace and right across the road from the Roasting Warehouse, you’ll find this little gem. Little Lefroy’s is easy to walk right on past, but drop in for a bite and you’ll wonder how you missed it all those times. Don’t let the small shop front deceive you, there’s plenty of seating inside. If it’s a nice day, why not take a seat outside and take in the sights and sounds of south Fremantle. I came here for an early lunch on a weekday– there were a few people about, but the lunch crowd hadn’t quite arrived, for which I was grateful of. If your driving, there’s plenty of parking down the side streets off South Terrace, which give you an opportunity to take a leisurely stroll down the street. Ordering a cold pressed juice and the salmon carpaccio salad, I was half expecting a tiny serving of salmon and a huge plate of greens, but boy was I wrong. The ratio between salmon and salad was perfecto! If anything, there was too much salmon! But hey, I ain’t complaining. It’s free seating and table service here so walk right in and grab a seat wherever. The staff are friendly and always up for a chat. I’ll definitely be back in the near future!

The coffee culture in Fremantle is huge, and yet there are still Cafes that manage to stay open despite serving coffee that quite frankly tastes like it was spit out of a Nespresso machine in to George cloonies glorious mouth than pissed back In to the cup… that been said, little lefroys is most definitely not that! Little lefroys sets the bench mark for amazing coffee in Fremantle! It’s not just that it tastes incredible, that the milk is perfectly textured or that the coffee is extracted without been burnt to a bitter mess, but that the coffee is consistently great! Busy, quiet, rain, hail, shine, a fucking zombie apocalypse, this coffee does not fail to impress.

Little Lefroy’s is a charming little café in South Terrace, South Fremantle. Quite small, a couple of rooms inside, as well as tables on the footpath, provide a range of seating possibilities. The décor matches the desire of the owners to use recycled materials where possible — tables made from recycled pallets or packing crates, the bar at the front from old breeze blocks, and the light fittings wine bottles with the bottoms removed. Lady FWO and I went along for a spot of light lunch recently, catching the free Blue Cat which stops a little along from the door. We were welcomed by the very friendly, sociable waiter and seated in the front room of the restaurant. They offer breakfast — which we understand is very popular — banana bread, breakfast bruschetta of mushrooms, pesto and feta, bacon stack, salmon gravlax, and shakshuka — lunch, which includes salmon carpaccio, corned beef sandwich, mushroom and haloumi burger — and dinner three nights a week and which offers lamb cutlets, spicy roasted cauliflower, pork and veal meatballs and roasted beetroot among others. One of the most important things as far as Lady FWO and I are concerned is that it is licenced — what would lunch be without a glass of wine? So we happily sat and chose from the wine list a glass of Pierre et Papa rosé and one of Chaffey Brothers Tripelpunkt Riesling for me. The Riesling from the Eden Valley has a distinct honeysuckle and mandarin bouquet while the fresh palate has flavours of red apple, citrus with a fine mineral edge. The rosé, one we have had on many occasions, is bright pink with lifted strawberry notes on the nose; has a touch of sweetness on the mid palate, but finishes quite dry with raspberry notes predominating. One point of importance I should note is the glasses used — a good size, thin glass and with a tapered finish to help concentrate the aromas of the wine. A small but important point. On to the food — we decided to share a large bowl of zucchini ribbons, served with a mix of green beans, peas, asparagus, rocket, quinoa seeds, mint leaves and crumbled creamy feta — a splash of oil and lemon gave it a refreshing lift. The vegetables were crunchy, the seeds providing a nutty, earthy note, the rocket a pleasant peppery element and the mint an aromatic spicy aside. It was a very refreshing, light lunch full of differing textures and flavours, and a generous serve to boot. There was a good crowd along for a Monday lunch, so it seems that Little Lefroy’s has made its mark at that end of South Terrace — as I mentioned we are told the breakfasts are very popular especially on weekends. From our experience — good food, a small but interesting wine list, pleasant and friendly waiters and an attractive and welcoming ambience, Little Lefroy’s is not to missed if you are down Freo way.

This place is quite the place for a great coffee, and I mean REALLY great! I love the sort of coffees where I don’t feel the need to put any sweetener in as it already is perfect… Breakfast there is very nice too and if it were a tad less money wise the the all good things dish, I would give this place a five out of five. I absolutely love the vibe of this place… The staff is very lovely and bubbly and will sure make you feel welcome. The décor and atmosphere is really cool with this repurposed line of thinking with wooden pallets converted to tables and glass bottles converted to dangling lights… I wish I had not forgotten my phone because this is the sort of place that oozes with style and warmth that really appeals to people like me who sometimes like to sit and read or work or simply enjoy this space with a good friend or five :) and i would’ve loved taking a snapshot! definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and appreciate great coffee and atmosphere.

Breakfast absolutely delish. Loved that their sourdough is whole grain!!! My husband said his bacon was some of the best he has ever had. I absolutely loved my breakfast, and they were happy to omit the chorizo for me(egg in spiced tomato sauce with smoked eggplant, yogurt and spices). Local, sustainable, ethical, and just fantastic staff. They serve lunch too, and dinner a few days a week.

Went here for a coffee catch up with a friend. The bowl of fries is great value for money on portion sizing. Tea was nice too. I would happily go back and recommend this place.

Lovely spot to start a Sunday monring in the heart of South Freo. Fantastic friendly service with a great array of organic and fresh breakfast options. I finally decided on the zucchini, pea and mint fritter with poached eggs, avocado and bacon. It was delicious! Portion sizes were good. Enough to fill full without being over stuffed. Whilst it did take a little while for our breakfast, it was quite busy and the coffee came out quick and its a good spot for a catchup with friends so you don’t notice the time so much. Follow that up with an after breakky stroll on south beach and you have another winning combo in south freo!

Always consistently great coffee and attentive and caring wait staff. You can see these ppl love what they do. Food was hot prompt and fresh. Ambiance was relaxed hippie come modern, with music that was present but not too loud. I treated a visitor from out of town here to a little local flavour and they weren’t disappointed

310 South Terrace in South Fremantle used to be the home of the popular Tasty Express. I did not visit this venue in it’s prior life but I can guarantee that it’s recent transformation is a positive one. For the Tasty Express regulars, rest assured that although the menu, owners and look has changed, the new owners have decided to retain the very talented chefs. Now let me introduce you to the new home to 310 South Terrace, Little Lefroy’s. Little Lefroy’s is owned and operated by a friendly couple Dave and Cat. In the past 4⁄5 months they have dedicated their time and passion to transforming their vision into a reality and my what a fabulous job they have done. Although little less than a week old, Little Lefroy’s has been bustling since it opened last Friday and is already developing it’s own set of regulars. The staff are very friendly and table service is offered. Expect to be greeted with a smile by staff who will refer to diners by name, adding that extra personal touch. The décor is all handcrafted with many pieces put together by the owner’s themselves ensuring that no good wood has gone to waste and beautiful pieces have been created from recycled material. The coffee is the popular Yahava Koffee beans that are growing in popularity lately with the label appearing at various cafes all over Perth. Currently 2 different blends are being trialed with the most recent one being a single origin blend, guaranteed to become a favourite for strong coffee lovers. The coffee is available dine in or takeaway with the takeaway coffees being placed in eco-friendly cups which also celebrate the work of local artists. Little Lefroy’s currently offers an extensive breakfast and lunch menu and is looking to expand this to include a dinner menu later on. Expect to be spoiled with choices, each one more appealing than the next. I did have a hard time deciding what I wanted and so decided upon 2 dishes; a breakfast bruschetta with rocket, pesto, fetta, field mushrooms and the option of poached eggs; shakshouka: baked eggs in tomato with fetta with the option of chorizo as an addition. Both dishes were delicious with my personal preference being the breakfast bruschetta simply because I have a weak spot for fetta, field mushrooms and pesto. The shakshouka was the perfect balance of eggs and tomato in a shallow heated ceramic dish served with some crusty bread perfect for dipping. The dish celebrates the tomato. I might request next time to add chilli though as the comforting kick offered by chilli peppers that I have grown to associate with shakshouka does appear to be missing. Should one have it with the chorizo though, this might not be the case. Little Lefroy’s has a liquor license and so should you prefer you are more than welcome to have an alcoholic beverage here. They are kid friendly also with a special section containing toys and books to keep the little ones entertained. And should you be in the company of a furry companion, rest assured that this venue continues to be dog friendly with a dog bowl available for water, and even treats available for them should they be on their best behaviour. Really, you can’t go wrong with paying Little Lefroy’s a visit. In fact, I can safely say that you would be silly not to. It is truly a fantastic establishment which is off to a promising start and can only go onward and upwards from here. The owners and staff have done themselves proud.
