Cool concept, trendy and cool. Drinks are moderately priced, the bartenders are friendly, and their is a large selection. One problem, the bar waiting area is very busy and small. A large crowd causes no room to move. Other than that, fantastic.

I’ve put off reviewing the Laneway Lounge for a while now because I feel a little bad about not being able to rave about it. When Laneway first opened, it was such an amazing place. The décor is sexy, the menu was sexy, the cocktails were sexy, the jazz was sexy, the staff were sexy. You felt sexy just being there. It was so perfectly themed. But every subsequent visit since has seen the venue slip. Just a little bit. Where you used to have to have a table to be there, it was now packed full of people so it’s harder to move. This also makes it harder to order. The clientele are not quite as nicely dressed. I think that it’s perfectly ok to have dress standards in venues that are as classy as this. Showing my age, but how much better was the casino when you had to dress up to get in? Going out became an event, not just a Saturday night. So now Laneway Lounge feels less like an exclusive speakeasy full of beautiful people and a bit more like any other bar. Which is a shame. It still has the same fabulous cocktail menu, a great range of spirits and craft beers. The food is still good(I think they’d be in trouble if they ever decided to take the pork belly donuts off the menu!). The staff are still service oriented. So it’s still somewhere that is a great place to go, and I will continue going back here. But it’s not going to be an ‘event’ anymore, just a nice night out.

Was at Laneway for a function last night. First time and I was impressed. The décor is impressive, staff were friendly and the nibbles served were delicious. The drinks & cocktails were good but not the best espresso martini around.

TD and I battled rain to get to Laneway straight from work. And oh boy was it worth it! At 5pm we were able to score a little table just for our group. Sitting in the plush seats and listening to the gentle sounds of jazz, we were able to unwind and let the stress slip away. Cocktails are really worth it, but today I was happy with a glass of chilled rose(note of cherry with a hint of honey — in other words delightful!). On a side note(but a worthy note) the food is creative, delicately flavoured and the perfect accompaniment to your evening drinks.

After a miserable twilight cruise on the PS Decoy my friends and I needed somewhere to relax and have a drink! I’ve never been to the Laneway Lounge so I was really keen to check it out! What an awesome location, great place to sit back, relax and have a drink or a bite to eat. There was a live jazzy band on, it wasn’t too loud, we could all still talk to each other and enjoy lounging on the couches. The staff here are brilliant, so accomodating and really friendly. The table service is a really nice change as I hate having to go to a busy bar to order drinks. Being so close to home(within walking distance) we’ll certainly be back again without a doubt! Love your work guys!

The Laneway Lounge has been on my ‘must try’ list for ages. Last weekend I FINALLY got the chance to go and, boy, I was not disappointed. I went for a few casual drinks with some girlfriends — the best cocktails I’ve tasted in a long time. Definitely recommend

One of the best pubs in the CBD within Perth’s otherwise dull nightclub/pub scene. Good atmosphere, great live music, even better cocktails. Ample space for comfy group seating with romantic curtained booths, would have loved to be in the live music area if not for the private function, but they streamed the music live anyway, to the main area. Don’t waste your time with other dull pubs along the CBD, this place is the real deal!

This is my favorite bar and restaurant in Perth. You enter via a sliding door and feel like you’re walking into someone’s house as it’s got that nice homely welcoming feel. Up the steps you go to a nice warmly lit bar and restaurant area. There are dozens of lightbulbs, a combination of long tables and grand looking sofas for seating and a dinner seating area too. Table service is amazing with friendly staff. The drinks menu is expansive from cocktails to mocktails to varying gin, whisky and scotch options. Their cider list is a bit sad though. Only two to three options. Food options are plenty too where you can choose from small sides like polenta chips, chips in truffle aioli, scallops, dumplings, warm bread with hommus, olives with peanuts, and their signature pork belly doughnuts. For th hungry, there is :-)

The atmosphere here is lovely. Dean Anderson was the solo act the night I went and his style went very well with the intimate lounge. The food… a few of us ordered the cheeseburgers and they were very dry, needed more sauce and less cooking. However, the chicken dish was delicious and the cocktails(and mocktails) tantalising. They have a large range of drinks, so if that is your thing, go here.

A large group of us popped into the Laneway for our first-ever visit and we were all impressed by the attentive service — suave waiters taking our order and bringing us our drinks with change! A sophisticated and eclectic décor of cosy private seating, bar tables, as well as a live music room offered different strokes for different folks — it feels part Parisian, part New Orleans. We loved the polenta chips with gorgonzola sauce and will be back to try some of the cocktails which looked impressive.

The Laneway Lounge is luscious. The drinks menu is decadence! And then last night the laneway broke my heart. one of my favourite drinks has been let go! Luckily the sherbet mojito is delicious and the affogato martini is heaven because taking the laneway volcano punch off the menu was unnecessarily nasty!

The second half of my Hens Night was held at Laneway Lounge, and I can’t speak highly enough of the service that we, and particularly my bridesmaids who organised the event, received. It was my ideal venue to spend the night — fun but still beautiful and classy. All my guests raved about the food, and there are many items on the menu I plan to go back for. The nitro punch bowls were definitely a highlight. The venue was very accommodating for our large group, and I am so thankful to the staff who played a part in making it a memorable night.

I love the look and feel about the Laneway Lounge. The New Orleans furnishings, wood floors and high ceilings. The staff were incredibly friendly. Friday evening it was shoulder to shoulder but I would love to return during the week when the performances are on. The food circulating the room smelt delicious. The cocktails using dry ice caught everyone’s eyes. The price of cocktails at $ 21.00 for a coffee martini was expensive. Loved that the menu had prosecco by the glass.

The laneway lounge is exactly what you might expect– in a lane. The painted carpet leading to the entrance is a glimpse of the fun to follow. We arrived at 18:00 to secure enough seating for the seven if us, as they didn’t take bookings. After grabbing some delightfully styled pews we soaked up the upmarket grand ol south styled décor and fired off a cocktail order. The menu is expansive and caters for all tastes, with the likes of Maple bacon Mahattans, Glenmorangie scotch, punch and a tropical wonder served in a tiki mug. We certainly tried all that was liquid on this fine evening in the quest to determine the best liquor, with my favorite being the Manhattan. The deft hand at work here shows maturity and restraint, with all cocktails being well received. Like the drinks menu the food isn’t to shy away from either, with all the small bites you could ask for. God dang it those polenta chips and dipping sauce are crunchy on the outer with a velvety smooth inner, and were ordered a few times! The one item that didn’t quite hit the mark was the donut pork belly. The sweetness from the maple syrup overpowered the pork, and really required some saltiness to balance the dish. The décor even gets it’s own little mention here. The styling is right on cue, with even the finite detail attended too. The studded high backs with stag print are a master stroke, with magic continuing in the bathroom. The trough like basin compliments the theme found throughout. Oh, and where do I buy those light bulbs! The table service was attentive and efficient. The crew that looked after us were right on the money, without a worry in the world. A scantly clad bunch took the booth next to us which drew away some of the service, but the service manager certainly went put of his way to even it out :) Overall a stunning 6 hours was spent in the Laneway, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Make sure you get in very early if you want a seat though, and prepare yourself for a stunning night. Food 8⁄10 service 9⁄10 décor 10⁄10 Drinks 9.5÷10

I saw a photo of pork belly donuts last week. Which led my friends and I to go check out Laneway Lounge last night. When first stepping into the Laneway I felt as if I wasn’t in Perth anymore. Absolutely fell in love with the ceiling of shutters and eclectic mix of gorgeous chairs. There was a jazz band playing in the back and the noise level was well balanced, we didn’t have to yell to hear each other. The booths that can be curtained off gave a lovely victorian /romantic feel. We got the pork belly donuts with maple & bourban glaze, octopus with crispy potato skin, mini pizza, cheese and truffle toasties, arancini balls, duck sliders and polenta chips. We rated the pork belly donuts, arancini and polenta chips and would definitely order again. The bread was rather dry possibly stale for the duck sliders. The cheese and truffle toasties we could see the truffles but the flavours didn’t really pop(great concept though). The drinks menu is voluptuous and remains on par with Perth’s prices. The Clover Club cocktail was delicious. Would definitely go back again and try the other dishes! Another point of why we would be going back is the lovely maître d’ who really does his job well. Laneway provides a wonderful warm atmosphere with great service.

Went to Laneway on a Saturday night for a friend’s birthday. Arrived around 9pm expecting it to be ridiculously busy. I was pleasantly surprised to see a small(fast moving) line and we weren’t waiting much longer than 5 minutes to get in. This place has a great feel to it. A good mix of people and lots of space so you don’t feel too cramped. I had a glass of wine and tasted a few nibbles(pork belly doughnuts… omg). Will definitely go back to explore the cocktail menu. Possibly a new favourite.

Love it! Can I end my review here? No… The staff are fantastic, they enjoy their job and that adds the the fun vibe; the food is tasty and interesting bar food, the drinks are amazing — be warned you can go home much poorer if you want to put event a slight dint in their impressive cocktail menu. And the atmosphere, great — quotes spaces, lounge area, bar area, performance area and long tables to cover all groups sizes and styles; sit back and enjoy the music!

The Laneway Lounge has won a lot of hearts since it opened. It’s hard not to love it, with a decedent interior, great table service, a delicious menu of comfort food, jaw-dropping cocktails and of course the live jazz. A few Unilocalers and I swung by on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. We booked a table a week ahead which would be advisable. We tucked into the aracini balls, the warm bread, olives and almonds with lavender, chunky chips and polenta chips. All the food was great, and come out pretty promptly. The cocktails definitely stole the show. Some bubbling, some steaming, some topped with maple bacon! All very enjoyable. Prices were pretty Perth standard, with tapas items being around $ 12 and cocktails being around $ 17.

Lounging in the laneway A hidden gem tucked in a laneway off Murray Street opposite Shaftos Lane, The Laneway Lounge offers classic Jazz era Cocktails complimented with other creations by Grant Collins(Ku De Ta & W Hotel Bali, W Seoul, The White Hart & Zeta Bar in Sydney). All this accompanied with vocal jazz and a décor to match. The back bar will also feature one of the largest Gin and Bourbon selections in Australia in the near future. Celebrity chef Danny Russo has designed the menu on offer. Having tried some of those offerings I would have to say maybe a few things have yet to be ironed out. The overall feel and ambiance is quite classy though. The crispy chicken wings whilst crispy were pretty dry. Having said that the Spiced Lamb Ribs were quite delightful. Service was exceptional as with most of Perth’s newest offerings on the bar scene. It seems to be table service which is most welcome. The cocktails are all presented beautifully but don’t seemed to always hit the heights imagined. With so much on offer though I don’t think it will be hard to find a favourite or two. This place already seems to be a hit with the after work crowd. If you haven’t been here pop in for a drink or even reserve a table for a dining experience with some friends!

Stepping inside The Laneway Lounge was like stepping into a plush Parisian jazz lounge. Live jazz is on stage in the back room for the music lovers while others who want to have a chat without fear of talking rudely over the performers can do so in the main bar. The music is piped through but at a level where you can still hear what your friends have to say. Décor, ambience and service was excellent. Private booths are available to be booked by groups hidden away behind sheer drapes. The drinks list is extensive. I tried the earl grey and mandarin sour(delicious!) and the Death in the Afternoon concoction — a medicine bottle, capsules and syringes served on a mirrored plate. More of a gimmick than to be noted for its wonderful mix of flavours(Sauvignon Blanc, whizz fizz and a squirt of absinthe!) but interesting none the less!!! I love this bar. Can’t wait to go back, frock it up, melt into the extensive gin list and be dazzled by some sultry jazz.
