The hot chocolate comes with half a cup of chocolate chips. And marshmallows. Win. Despite the difficulty of getting the attention of staff to order, follow up on missing items, and then pay, I also enjoyed pizza here one night — I’d even risk the service to go back.

This is located in Wolf Lane in the Perth CBD. It has two levels but is very small. I have been here several times on a Friday/Saturday night but have also stopped here for a morning coffee on the way to work. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. For drinks, there is a great selection of cocktails. Definitely get the Belvedere Watermelon or the Poison Apple– Delicious! They also have an extensive list of beer and wine as well. Foor food — We ordered nachos and a pizza that had chorizo, mozzarella, onion, sweet corn & avocado, which was great — but it was a little pricey. Will definitely be back!

Cheeky Sparrow has been one of my favourite bars for a Friday night drink and recently I stopped by for a early morning coffee. It’s a place to add to the morning café list, the long black was supremo and it has a nice atmosphere in the morning too. Infact during the day you can appreciate the little architecture details and fittings that you would probably miss in the evening!

Went for drinks on a Wednesday evening. Staff at bar were excellent on helping us choose a wine and allowed us to taste first. Good atmosphere in bar — attentive staff, comfortable seating and the music was at the perfect level. Will be back!

This little gem is located in a lane in Perth cbd. It has two floors but is tiny. It has an extensive cocktail menu. I recommend their espresso martini and watermelon with belvedere vodka. They use fresh watermelon. The bartenders are cute and friendly. They do half price pizzas on Wednesdays. I went on a Friday around 5.20 after work and it had hit capacity by 6. I got their polenta chips. You get 6 chips for 9 dollars and they are few but amazing. Their cocktails are of good value. You can even book tables.

I wanted to come here with my best friend to wrap up what would have otherwise been a perfect girls day out. I had attempted to make a reservation by giving them a call a few days prior as I knew these guys get pretty busy, particularly on a Friday night. Despite calling several times and from multiple devices, their lines weren’t working. Luckily for me, they had an online form that you could fill out to make a reservation so I went and did just that. We arrive at the venue on Friday to be greeted by a young bouncer who briskly blocks the door with his arm when all we did was walk up to him and proceeds to tell us they’re over capacity. I tell him that we booked a table for two for 9pm so he checks his reservation booklet to tell us there has been no reservation made under my name for that time, so I gently explain to him that I tried calling and ended up booking online instead because the phone line wasn’t working. All of a sudden he starts putting on quite a patronising tone of voice and asks me things like«are you sure you know how to book things online?»(yeah I work as a web developer for a living I’m pretty sure I know how to book online) and«which venue did you book it for?»(obviously the one I’m standing right in front of you knuckle head) so at this point both my friend and I are really offended by how we were being treated by some young guy on a power trip so I just tell her we should probably spend our time and money elsewhere to which he butts in with«I suppose you can come in if you really want to» to which I replied«thanks but we no longer do. I think we’ll actually go elsewhere, good night» My friend and I ended up going to Grand Central for dinner which was a beautiful experience where we were treated with respect, dignity and good customer service throughout, shame I can’t say the same for Cheeky Sparrow because they looked great.

What a great little find. Came here after work for some leaving drinks. The bar is quirky and décor is mismatched. There is a fantastic selection of boutique beers and ciders and some great cocktails-which I tried. Great for groups and an after work wind down. The staff were great and really knew their stuff. Will definitely be visiting here again to explore the menu more.

It’s time we do this, Sparrow Cheeks. We must talk about what happened last night… I was tired from work and frustrated because I had to go through the nails-on-the-blackboard traffic of Perth and pay for the grand experience of parking my car on the street. In-between two kebab shops and a couple of bars. Where someone left their breakfast on my brand new tyres. Oh well… I came to you to meet my girlfriend and her sister who were really hyped up and passionate about showing me your insides. All your secrets and all your inner beauty. You’re decorated nicely, with wooden floorboards, painted walls… looking like a dollhouse that’s gone bad. The bird cages and the little sparrow nests hanging off the ceiling all work with your darker shades and hey, you look good. The lovely bar staff were ecstatic to serve us, which was surprising considering the time we were there. We had couple of ciders, a mocha and a soda water. Now this is where it got interesting — the soda water was… er… $ 4. That’s same price as a mocha that takes some sort of harder labour to make. I was too overwhelmed by the trotting barman and the little gnome staring at me from the shelf, but when the bill came to $ 27 something for what was essentially 3 items of worth, and a glass of tap water with bubbles with some vitamin C, I had that metallic, bothersome taste in my mouth. Is this the end? Are we breaking up already? But… but we’ve just started! I might come check you out again. Maybe drink a cocktail this time to get my money’s worth. Or spare one night of your beauty and end the hunger in an African village. We’ll see.

Once upon a time(in keeping with the fairytale Wolfe lane establishments theme)…I found this place and it became my favourite bar/restaurant in Wolfe Lane! This place does get busy so if you can avoid peak times on Friday and Saturday nights that would be advisable. They do have upstairs and downstairs seating however it does get excessively crowded if you come at the wrong time. But if you come at the right time(late or early) the atmosphere is lively. I like that it’s dark and the service was very attentive. I had a really great watermelon juice. The pizza was really delicious, loaded with salty prosciutto, tasty ricotta and mushrooms and large as even shared amongst three people it was very filling. I would return on a Wednesday now that I know pizzas are half price on that day.

Went for lunch and my eyes were locked onto the cuban sandwich with pulled pork, ham, cheese, pickles n mayo. As i was talking to my friend about the imitations of pulled pork in this city, because«pulled pork» is the new gourmet word, my cuban roll arrived and opening it up revealed 3 pieces of pork the size of my thumb and it most definantly wasn’t pulled. Big shame. but funny i was able to make my point with«exhibit A». Anyways i’ve had the pizzas here and theyre great, but i didnt enjoy my lunch.

Delicious drinks and great service! I had the watermelon and vodka which was really refreshing on a Friday night after work. We had to line up at the bar for the first drink but then after that had table service on the back patio which rocks! Downside of the back alley seating was that Friday afternoon is bin collection day and seems to be right around 5pm. Sitting surrounded by bins and the smell of trash is really not inviting at all.

The kit out on this place is lush. Dunno quite how to describe what they’ve got going on, but boy… it works. My standard issue from here is their gin and tonic — comes with a generous slice of blood orange for the citrus kick. DERISHUS! I haven’t sampled any of the food there, and admittedly the line-up on a Friday afternoon/evening can be frustrating, but still an impressive offering from Wolfe Lane.

It is always really full so timing is key if you want a table but if you get a little creative there is always a spot to be found! The first time I came here for after school drinks our bartender almost telepathically was able to pick which drinks we would like and then put time and care into making each one perfectly. This included cutting fresh slices of cucumber and using a juicer to make all the mixes fresh. Wonderful! The second visit we had to wait a lot longer for our drinks but they were still delicious. They also have a Disney princess based section in their cocktail list which is a big win for me! The prices were really reasonable. I paid between $ 10-$ 12 for all of my cocktails which for Perth is hard to find especially downtown! I love the prices, and I have a real soft spot for fresh apple juice so I will definitely be coming back here for after class bevies in the future!

I want to like the CS but truthfully its hard. I hear that the bar is from the same stable as Malt, Lost Society etc. and as such it all makes sense. No ambiance, no vibe and no good.

This place could have been really cool but there’s something amiss. Hard to put my finger on it. A lack of ambience, warmth… I’m sure the unimaginative music and awkward layout has something to do with it. Its easy to believe this bar shares relation to Malt, Duchess and Lost Society. I’m just not a fan of what these guys do. Superficial comforts and forced character. The only good parts are that it doesn’t take long to get a drink and the double laneway location.

OK, a lot of others on Unilocal have done a great job in talking about the place. So let me get straight to the juicy bits. THEGOOD 1. Staff are very friendly, %^$^ing awesome service and great fun to talk to. 2. The food in general is good. Not OMG, but the sandwiches/rolls/bagels are VERYYUMMY. In fact, the Ham, Cheddar and Tomato bagel with chutney was perhaps the best i’ve ever tried in my life(NO I WASNTDRUNK) But they are pricy! 3. The place is comfortable(IFYOUCANGET A SEAT) Upstairs is the nicest. 4. Cocktails are awesome. My fav is the expresso one(whatever it was called, YES I WASDRUNKATTHISPOINT) The fairy floss cocktail was very yummy(Its what i’ve heard, i of course would never hand over my manhood and actually try it ;)) 5. LOL, LMAFO or ROFL at the Live Stand Up Comedy on every second Wednesday night. 6. They use The Margaret River Chocolate Factory stuff for their Hot chocs: D(EPICYUMMY) THEBAD 7. NOFREAKINDESSERT? Fix that Cheeky! I don’t want freakin cheese or JUST a hot chocolate for dessert! THEUGLY 8. I wish you could smoke outside. But you have to leave the table area and hangout in the lane.

I really wanted to really love this place. Hidden down a little lane way, with funky décor and very friendly waitstaff it made a very good start. I ordered the chicken with salsa verde panini but with GF bread instead of panini. It was quite dry and felt like it needed some cheese or something else gooey like avocado to bring the flavours all together, although this may have been because I chose to substitute with GF bread. The chef should know the limitations of GF bread and add something to make it more edible. The other issue was the overwhelming amount of garlic added, heading back to my conference I was scared for any poor delegate that was going to be stuck sitting next to me in my stink. This place has oodles of potential, it just needs some tweaks in the kitchen before I can recommend it.

Sparrow is a super cool little joint in behind wolf lane off Murray. I’m here on Friday and the line isn’t too big but it’s slow. There’s a patio outside where seats are at a premium and inside there’s two floors with a bar at each one. Absent from this place are bogan douchebags which is a welcome change. Maybe it’s the more expensive beers. Speaking of the brews there are a bunch of tasty imported beers which are great including summer ale. The décor is great, but everything looks better in the dark, or dimly lit. And this is no different. There’s a dj playing some super chill tunes and conversation is lively. I’m a fan. Wait a minute they just played Christina Aguilara. Can I change my vote?

This place is pretty pricey, even for a Friday night CBD venue. Love the little outside section, but it‘s not big enough as there is never a table or chair free. Be prepared to stand inside too and pay a minimum of $ 45 for a bottle of wine. The bar‘s fit out is very pleasing to the eye, the pizza menu looked good and it‘s hard not to love everything that’s wrapped up in the cute little package that is Wolf Lane.
