This Vietnamese restaurant in Northbridge is a neighborhood gem — especially since it stands out as a classy clean restaurant on a dark corner surrounded by dodgy establishments. Though it is a Vietnamese restaurant with the most expansive menu I’ve ever seen(ever heard of salty lemonade or a drink with durian and longan), the set up looks quite Chinese. We ordered the duck paper rolls(2 pieces) as our entrée for 9 dollars that arrived with a delicious sweet sauce. For our main, we ordered the Japanese fried tofu with spinach and mushrooms and the spicy lemongrass fish. We also ordered steam rice for two. The food was delicious with huge portions huge(we had so much leftover rice). And all for 47 dollars. What a bargain. Only downfall is that the food tastes quite Chinese rather than Vietnamese. Definitely going back but in a group. Their banquet is only 30 per person. :)

There are so many Asian places in Northbridge but Lido is one of the better ones. Huge place so good for groups or walk-ins but always busy! Food is cheap and tasty. The Coca Cola chicken is a speciality! I had the duck chow mein last time which was also yum. Service is fast as well.

Delicious light food with great portion size and flavours. Service was very attentive and friendly. Byo bottles of wine and pay $ 5 for corkage. Had the special garlic shrimp which were excellent. Their tofu is so delicious, too!

Salted fish rice, oh yaaa oh yaaaa. Thats the«must order every time» item that keeps up coming back. The restaurant has beautiful big windows, is always cranking with groups ranging from duos to big groups and the food is fresh, varied and colourful. When we go for Vietnamese, we go for Lido.

Damn I love this place! Speedy service, delicious food and decent prices. BYO, too. The best part is, although it’s often heaving with people, you can still manage a conversation without yelling at each other due to the carpeted floors. A small yet vital detail. I highly recommend Lido in Northbridge.

Juicy and full of flavour! I love this place! I forgot to BYO(this time) and 3 of us shared a plain rice with 2 main meals(beancurd with lemongrass sauce and honey chicken). The Beancurd soaked up a spicy tasty lemongrass sauce and the honey chicken was crunchy without being greasy. We left the restaurant full with a bill of around $ 40! Service was quick and polite and I can’t see anything to complain about. I will be back — especially after spying the sizzling dish at another table.

When 7 friends can go out for dinner, order so much food that there is some left and work their way through 5 bottles of wine with the bill only coming to $ 22 each, then we are on to a winner. The menu here is extensive and you could never work your way through it all. Come with a large group so you can at least order a few items. The veggie dishes(especially the mushroom and brocollini dish) was very good and not bland at all. The smell of herbs will take over your senses as soon as a nearby table orders one of the sizzling dishes. Book ahead as this place gets very busy on weekends which results in a lively atmosphere.

Cheap Asian Food, BYO, the friendliest staff ever, huge tables, what more could you want! We love to come here in big groups for birthdays or just drinks and a meal before heading out for a dance. The staff are so accommodating and friendly, I have never had a bad experience here. Love the roast duck noodle dish and it is only $ 14! what a bargain!

Mmmmmhmmm I love Lido! My girlfriends and I frequent Lido usually before a girls night out on the town as it’s not too expensive and is BYO! Usually get the roast chicken with fried rice and not once has it been a disappointment. The restaurant is huge with quite a number of large round tables so you can usually make a booking that very same day. The staff are friendly and efficient too. Located on William Street in Northbridge, only a short walk into the city and with a number of bars on the same block, Lido is excellent if you plan on heading out afterwards.

Get rowdy on Vietnamese because Lido is fresh, fast and fun. Originally, the Yen Do about 10 years, Lido is always a great night among friends and family. It’s the perfect place for a cheap eat, good for families and perfect for groups– the more the merrier. Plus, free BYO, why not! Top eats include: ginger fish– perfect every time, Vietnamese spring rolls with prawns-fresh and light, san choy bau– bit of a game to eat this, without spilling half of it plus juices onto your plate, beef chow mein and special fried rice– mountains of yummy goodness. I think everyone should try to sizzling beef once which is a novelty in itself. The only negatives I can think of are it’s hard to find parking and it can get very noisy. But, that’s it. The staff are always running around taking orders, clearing plates and bringing out dishes, that sometimes you forget you’re in Perth. The atmosphere is always buzzing and I’m never disappointed with the food, service or bill.

I think this place really is as good as it gets if you are looking for a cheap bite in the northbridge area. The place already begins to pack out by about 6pm in the evening and I like to think that the number of Asian people eating there is a fairly good sign that the food is awesome. The menu is so vast that it is a little bit daunting, so a helpful page is their specials where you can get anything from Coca Cola Chicken(surprising tasty) to crocodile! I can never go past the spicy ginger fish, which although battered, has a light texture and a spicy bite. Those of you who are more health conscious, the steamed ginger fish is also incredible although not as spicy. The menu is well priced but because it is so delicious, you tend to over order and regret the consequences later. Don’t miss this place, it really is an institution.

I have had been hearing great things about this place. Was recommended the Seafood Chow Mien and the Duck Noodle Soup… so ordered the Duck(boneless) Chow Mien. Best of both worlds? I was wrong! Food came out burnt… service was very harassing, trying to get us to hurry and order by 5 different staff members. Disasppointing dish coupled with bad service. However the Seafood hofun/wet flat noodles was good. Saved our night! Do recommed the LiDo in Cottesloe better! Go there instead for a better dining experience.

Lido Restaurant serves up fantastic Vietnamese cuisine. We go there regularly either to dine in or takeaway. Service is fast and efficient and meals are huge — always enough to take home a doggy bag! :) I recommend the vegetarian fried rice, vegetables in red coconut curry sauce, chow mein, spring rolls and the satay sauce(which you can pour on your fried rice) YUMMY! Great food, service and price — well worth the visit!

Finally our first venture into Vietnamese food. We were the first to arrive in our party, so we ordered the kids a chicken and noodle soup. There was an abundance if chicken which balanced well with the stock. Once everyone arrived we locked in one of the banquets. All dishes were well received with the beef salad being a highlight of the night. Unfortunately for me I was still hungry by the end of it(which surprised me), so I’m not sure you could class it as value packed. One of our guests had shellfish allergies, and they were accommodated well. In summary some fresh vibrant food in a fairly good looking restaurant. Food 6.5÷10 service 6.5÷10 décor 6⁄10

LIdos is my favourite ‘cheap n cheerful’ in Northbridge. Food service is super quick and always friendly. Food is above average and well priced. Décor is attractive. Can get very busy on a Friday night. They are licensed, byo wine only. Ignore the location on the map provided, really wrong! They are located further down William Street on the corner of Robinson.

I can get on board with Vietnamese any day of the week! The restaurant is amply stocked with tables and chairs, which is always brimming on a weekend night. I was able to sample 4 dishes of which were all amazing. The scallops came out in a bowl and were placed on a hot skillet in front of our eyes. Sizzling and steam delighted the senses! I’m a sucker for chicken and pineapple and the pork was so tasty! I am making myself hungry as I write this. The service was very eager at first and slowly slacked off at the end. They were incredibly quick to bring us our food and allowed us to savor and talk the rest of the evening uninterrupted. Taking advantage of the BYO is a must!

There are so many reasons to love Lido! My friends and I call on this long-lasting Asian eatery when we need access to a comfortable meal before a night out on the town. I never feel rushed to finish my meal here. Drawn out, social dinners are pretty much customary. The restaurant can accommodate big groups with lots of large round tables, ideal for food sharing. It’s BYO so you can bring your wine or beer and nick the cost of drinking out afterward. The staff don’t care how rowdy you get either. Everyone seems to be drinking and eating and having a good time, and the noise only makes for a fun and lively atmosphere. There is not a huge requirement to book and you can generally get a table just by rocking up. The service is snappy and food is out in minutes! There’s a constant flow of staff scurrying to and from the kitchen window and hot plates of sizzling meat are rested at tables at every interval. The food itself is Vietnamese with a smear of Chinese and a tone of tastiness. The stir-fried scalllop dishes are a good choice. Cooked in a few different ways, the scallops themselves are cooked to perfection and melt away in your mouth. The satay hot plates go down a treat too, and the Kai-lan is an appetizing way to increase your greens quota. Lido is a Northbridge and a William Street icon. It really sets you up for a night full of amusement and good times. I recommend it highly.

Love this place! The food is so delicious, every dish I have had has been such an original experience. There are a few vietnamese restaurants on William Street. Viet Hoa is very popular and not even close to Lido in terms of quality of food. The staff are lovely and the food is pretty cheap. The Coca Cola chicken is a surprising new favourite and the honey prawns are to die for. Definitely book ahead and it‘s byo so make the most of it.
