Why is the music so loud?! If it’s to block out the noise of the traffic from the street, I’d rather that.

Staple weekday floor staff snooty and rude, very much look down the nose; examining how you look to provide the «appropriate» level of service. Yes, you do work in a nice building. However at the end of the day, we are of equal styling. After encountering this attitude on four separate occasions, I will not be returning to this establishment. My family and friends have similar reports.
I understand you get some odd people up this end of Newcastle, however, even so, it seemed inappropriate to be openly judging other customers, and how bad their teeth are _​to_​other customers.
On Friday evenings, expect young beer-​infused footballers in suits to yell obscenities at you while you sit. My $ 16 burger was stolen by some punk kids (though thankfully replaced with no drama). Yes, all class day staff, all class.
There is, however, an upside. In my limited interaction, the chefs seem friendly, and the night staff are helpful (generally university students).
The view is lovely, and much of the food is nicely prepared, interesting, and tasty (albeit a bit light on). Thanks to the staff who know good service, and riff raff aside, I’ve had many reasonable nights here.
The moral to the story seems to be go between 5 — 8:30pm, and not on a Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday; when drunken students roam the halls.

Not a bad place for a drink. Pleasant outlook. Despite the bar menu, we were told that we could not order food without a table reservation.
