Flat Rock Brew Cafe

Awesome beer. Pages and pages and pages and pages of bottles to choose from and a selection of about 6 rotating taps (including a few of their own). Bar staff are friendly and happy to make recommendations.
And I’m not exaggerating when I say that the burgers all come with a giant bucket of chips. Deliciously salty, shoe string chips.
The brisket burger was good, but I found it to be a bit too salty. On the opposite end of the scale, when I returned for the beef burger and the Mexican chicken burger, I found them both lacking in seasoning. Those chips though … Amazing.

Good beer. Nice food and super friendly service. We sat upstairs and the staff were fantastic with our orders.

An excellent selection of beers, even a hand pulled English bitter if your luck is in.

Great selection of beers here and really good pub style food to match. Curry night (Thursday) is a real highlight. They feature one curry each Thursday which is always of excellent quality.
Make sure you try their house brews. The red rye ipa is awesome.

This is my kind of place… Great beer selection, tasty food and good atmosphere. Plus I love that, being in the friendly Naremburn neighborhood, they are quite okay for you to have your dog with you outside. A big tick for us! They also hold regular beer tasting nights and special events which I look forward to attending one day.
Staff are always friendly and a fab place to chill on a weekend, beer in hand.

Flat Rock Brew Café is a new installment and conveniently moves in to an area lacking a local bar. While it is too early to give them their final grade I am happy to give a quick progress report.
I was not wowed but that is understandable as they likely have some kinks to work out. The service wasn’t anything special and the food items seemed to be generally overpriced. I think they could benefit from a tasting option to really enjoy all the beers they offer on tap. The menu needs more price variety in order for people to take the step from ‘just drinking’ to ‘we might as well get a couple of things to share’. Also, it seems a bit odd to take reservations for such a small, casual room but if you are taking reservations at least leave some room for walk-​ins!
That being said, I have been a couple of times and guarantee I will be back to see how they are doing in a few months.
