Pirate Bar

Met a crew of friends here for what we hoped would be dinner and a fun Sunday session. There was a note on the front door telling us they would be closed early that night which put a dent in our plans but we decided to stay anyway. The staff were super helpful and the food we tried was nice. I’m not sure about the overall atmosphere of the place, it seemed kinda disorganized when we were there but as it was my first time, I wasn’t sure if it was normal. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to return here though.

A small group of us visited the Pirate Bar recently and the burgers (beef & chicken) that we all ordered were great.
I found it a bit of a soulless place, but if you want a place for a kids lunchtime /​early
evening party or an adult pirate theme party (or any other!) it would be the place to go.
The staff were fantastic.

Live nearby so wanted to give this place a go, bought meal voucher when they first opened but didn’t use it as I didn’t read the fine print. A year later thought I would pop in for a drink, it was a Saturday night and I was told by the bartender that they were closed to the public as they had private functions. Won’t bother going back — some other very good bars nearby that don’t turn away customers.

It’s not very often you find a great bar like the Pirate Bar in the suburbs but I did last night and I would definitely be back. The staff are super friendly and attentive and the design and interior of the bar is spot on. And what makes it extra special… they have Giant Jenga you can play!!!

But seriously, the whole place was decked out so well, they really followed through with the theme. the staff were really accommodating, I walked in to about 5 «Hello’s». I went for a birthday lunch, we were all asked to pre order our food, which was actually good, since they were prepared and we didn’t have to wait long. they have a whole collection of boutique beers and wines, which were delish. I had the Chicken burger and the Taco beer, it was reaaaaally good. and the fries were homemade (i think? they tasted home made)
all over I was really impressed. They had a toy box that my nephew loved, we even dressed up as pirated and had a little sword fight.
When we were finished eating, they set up giant Jenga for us, which was really lovely. we spent quite a while out there trying to build the tallest jenga tower. would definitely go back for more!

I’ve been here only twice now even though it’s within walking distance of my house and I’ve only been here for lunch and not drinks but it’s been a great experience both times.
I actually came both time times because of a Living Social voucher of 2 burgers, fries and drinks for lunch for $ 20 which is awesome considering the size of the meal and your choice of beer, wine or soft drink.
We just had the house burger which was delicious, a really thick homemade beef patty with cheese, lettuce, cheese and relish. The fries were nice and crispy and you get enough to eat without too many to continue eating until you feel sick!
The service was great and everyone was friendly and the place had a nice feel and atmosphere to it with a beer garden and people with kids for lunch. I can’t wait to come back for Sunday drinks in the sun!

This place is my local and the pizzas are really nice !!
The burgers and steak sandwiches are always very tasty and the tapas are good but small portion for the price you pay. The meals however are always a decent size.
I highly recommend trying out this bar, it is also very family friendly and the staff are always helpful and pleasant.

I came here with intentions of hopefully finding a new local hang out — however when I came I didn’t feel that at all :-(
The mixed crowd gave an odd vibe — older, wiser, scarf wearing people and then there are families too with very young children :-(
The décor is cool though and does somewhat resemble a pirate… ship?
V sad, but hopefully this place will grow into a hip place to let ma hair down on a Friday arvo :-) will defs come back in a month or so!

A shaky start to my new local The Green Street Bar. Or is it The Pirate Bar? I’m not sure. Due to the final touches not yet in place (incl. exterior signage) I believe this bar still has the training wheels on. I’m always hopeful for improvement as I don’t like seeing any business fail.
The bar food menu looks a little ho hum and far too pricey. $ 8 for a bowl of almonds? I don’t think so. $ 6 for popcorn? Get out. The fluorescent bar lights around the exterior are just nasty. There is only a meagre selection of wines by the glass. I might be inclined to forgo the $ 10 per glass for only 4 white choices and go buy a bottle from the grog shop across the road and take it home instead.
Good stuff: large space, non-​smoking venue, enormous screen playing remastered old swashbuckler movies and proximity to my house. The latter probably won’t help you, tho’.
With a couple of other fabulous small bar options available in the district, this one is doing it’s own thing, but there’s nothing that has me wanting to rush back.
