Suburban Table is a great spot in Mosman Park with an interesting mix of Asian cuisine and a bit of Italian flair. We walked in without a reservation on a weekday at around 6:30 and it was pretty empty inside, but it definitely got much more crowded around 7:30 or 8pm. The décor is a bit blah — it’s dark inside with only a few lamps to light up to deep red walls, which were lined with random Styrofoam sound insulation sheets that maybe were trying to be artsy but just weren’t doing it for me. We started with some amazing soba noodles and buttery soft scallops with just a bit of pork floss sprinkled on top — this was definitely my favourite dish there. We also had the yum cha style squid which were nice and tender and paired well with a creamy kewpie aioli. For the mains we got the pork belly and beef short ribs. They were both incredibly rich but tasty, though I do with there were a few veggies you could order on the side to help cut through some of the richness. The pork belly was fork tender and flavourful in its sticky and sweet glaze, and the beef short ribs were soft and tender as well. The dessert menu was a little confused(at least not on the Asian theme) but we ordered the sticky date pudding for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed the old classic. A bit pricey overall but a good spot for a nice meal.

Ok, wow. Like a certain 5 star wow. BYO wine makes this a 6 star if I could! New owners, Kelly and her husband Jason have taken over and the place is humming. Tiny little spot so must book. Asian inspired, farm to table with local produce and a wine menu that’s full of the doctors and dentists who own vineyards Margaret river and dine at the restaurant. Plus a few organic delights from all over the world. Was our anniversary so treated like royalty. Incredible food, restaurant was intimate and romantic. The menu changes daily but I can back the scallops with soba noodles and I had a goat pie — amazing! Just get onto booking this place!

Great little restaurant… small, cosy little bistro with a nice feel. We shared chorizo, bread, parfait and tempura prawns to start. all delicious. Mix of mains — roasted duck, Thai chicken curry, beef fillet… everyone loved their meals. Plus it’s BYO which is a huge bonus in my book. Great for groups… will definitely be going back.

There’s something very unique about this little restaurant. Firstly, it is only open on the weekends and for the rest of the week it looks like its been shut down. Secondly they change the menu every Saturday and base it around what fresh ingredients they have, how refreshing. As a result however, the meals are quite expensive. I can’t give you much advice on the menu but I can add, if you’re going to spend the money to come here then stay for some homemade dessert.
