Fun Form & Function

Fun Form & Function takes me straight back to being a seven year and wanting to play all day long. If you bring your child into this store don’t be surprised if they never want to leave or worse if you leave with half the store in your bags! I love that this store does not thrive off electronic toys but rather on the more traditional and imaginative ones like finger puppets, wooden cars, miniature animal figurines (that are extremely realistic) Lego and much more.
I also saw some strange and interesting little things that were actually quite funny firstly a bizarre clock that makes different animal noises every hour (the lady at the desk did mention that she’s still not used to it and it gets her every time) a photo mobile so that your little one can see photos of you all the time and freakishly cool fairy statues that I would have loved to have had when I was younger. Fun Form & Function as the names mentions is a trove for all things fun so next time if you’re in need of a gift or simply want to reminisce about the your youth be sure pop into Fun Form & Function.

This is a really great toy shop. It has some lovely, unique toys, and you’re guaranteed to find something to suit any child. For some reason there seem to be quite a lot of toys here that come from Germany — is Germany renowned for producing excellent toys? I don’t know. Either way, if you have a little person to buy a gift for, or if you just haven’t quite grown up yet (I know I haven’t) Fun Form & Function will have something for you. I went in because I was looking for some small model animals. I wanted a few little, funny things to give someone (a fully grown man), and what better than tiny animals? Well, I wasn’t disappointed. Fun Form & Function have a marvellous array of tiny plastic animals. All the classic toy animal families are covered, from dinosaurs to jungle animals to farm animals. I chose a penguin. They also have a selection of Duplo and Lego which took me back to my childhood, and I was sorely tempted to get some as a treat for myself. I resisted, but I don’t know if my willpower will be so strong next time.

We all know toys are cool. We all pretend that we have grown up and have become mature adults that no longer care about toys. We have all seen Toy Story. We all love Mr. Potato Head, Mrs Potato Head and the slinky dog. Its because we all love toys. Funform and function sell great toys, clothes and kids furniture. The shop in Mosman Park is very small, largely due to the fact that their client base comes from Internet shoppers. You won’t find branded board games or Barbie dolls here and what a bonus that is.
