Seated at hola on the beach, you can literally yell out hola to passing public on the beach as well as enjoy the views of the majestic white sandy blue and green waters of cottesloe beach. The service is fantastic and as soon as we sat down, we had eater on our table, cutlery, plates and menus. The waitress recommended the hola board to share and we also got the fish and chips as my colleague had had it twice and raved about it as being the best fish and chips she has ever had. The hola board is 36 dollars and comes with four pieces of ciabatta bread, chorizo, calamari, homemade babaganoush, homemade hommus with chilli flakes, smoked salmon, feta and three grilled prawns. The bread was soft, filling and yummy. I’m in love with ciabatta bread now. The babaganoush and hommus were flavoursome. The feta was soft but not too crumbly and there was so much of it. The prawns were seasoned with something delicious. The calamari with a squeeze of charred lemon was divine. The salmon with hommus and feta on ciabatta made a great combo. You can never go wrong with chorizo. :) The fish and chips is a massive snapper with thick cut fries with homemade tartare sauce and a side of salad for $ 29. The snapper was melt in the mouth fall off fork soft and delicious. Have to agree with my colleague that it is the best I’ve ever had. The tartare sauce is homemade and is so addictive. The chips were nice and crispy and soft at the same time. We also got the truffle to finish off which is two large blocks of dark rectangular chocolate that have a hint of liqueur in them. It seems touch when you break into it with your spoon but its melt in the mouth yummo. Loved loved this place. It holla-d out to my heart and my stomach felt un-hola(hollow) after visiting this establishment. This place is so good that I’m going to be hola-ing about it to my buddies.

Good food, service, and coffee. I originally came in to use the wifi service, but discovered their long macs were delicious and quite strong, which I appreciated. This kept me coming back, 5 times in total over 2 weeks(visiting Perth/Cottesloe from USA). The burger and fry plate was okay. I bit messy and too much bread, or not enough meat however you would like to see it. Overall okay, but on the pricy side when all taken into account. Mainly a cool beach coffee spot with Internet access. Would recommend for that purpose.

Terrible service, kept getting orders wrong. Brought out wrong coffees twice and forgot to bring out our juice. Didn’t remember until we’d finished breakfast. Pulled pork was average. Sparse avocado on the ‘smashed avocado’ dish. Savory muffins were over salted and soggy. Wouldn’t come back

I would love to describe to you how much I loved the food here, but after waiting for 45 minutes, we were told that there was a «mess up» in the kitchen and our order hadn’t gone through. Instead of sorting out the problem, they then advised us that the menu had changed over to lunch. Our group of 6 left hungry and disappointed.

Great higher end food. Nice ambience. Had a peek into the kitchen and looks clean and chef looked relaxed. I’d give a 4.5( Unilocal doesn’t give enough resolution with scoring so rounding up to 5, not perfect but very good for what it was) It was 300 dollars for four of us with appetisers, mains, a dessert, coffees and an 80 dollar bottle of wine, pouilly-fuissé(so tasty) I had the special which was the pink snapper with lemon and herb risotto. Excellent dish that I would highly recommend. I sampled the salmon dish a friend got and it was delicious perfectly cooked and the eggplant was delicious and not bitter so handled well. All three appetisers(American for entrée) were delicious. Chorizo and scallops, quinoa tomato chile and zucchini salad, and a beetroot salad that my fellow diners devoured before I knew what was going on. Service was very professional and high end but a little cold. It may be because my friend booked for 7 and we showed up slightly late(that was called in) with only four of us but we weren’t shy in ordering so not much loss in revenue there. We closed down the restaurant with good conversation so at the end it wasn’t unexpected. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. My only other critique was the the pomegranate panna cotta the pomegranate molasses was pretty intensely tart for some at the table. I like tart and it was on the edge for me. The rest of the panna cotta was nice though. A better quantity/balance/distribution of the molasses would help. Good place for a small group or an intimate date. Not too large a venue to feel lost in and easy to converse.

Sunday breakfast. Very busy because of Sculptures by the Sea(which was our reason for being in Cottesloe). Happy to squeeze us in after a short wait and food was good(though it took a while which is understandable). Minor problem with the bill(we got some extra meal items added to the bill which were not ours) but all-in-all it was a good experience.

After much debate in choosing a brunch spot this morning, Bluewaters got the pick. Quite excited as it had been a while since I had eaten out for breaky. It goes without saying that it is a lovely location etc. However, my experience was made rather dull due to the very poor service. We walked in without a greeting and therefore unaware if it was counter or table service so just stood at the counter for a couple of minutes and begun to look at the menu. After we were finally noticed by the women behind the counter, she said«it is table service you know» …so we took our OWN menus and sat OURSELVES down. We were waiting much too long until someone finally came and put some water on our table — though he said nothing to us and gave no eye contact, just plonked it down and left. We thought/hoped that he would be back and ask for any coffees for starters(like everywhere you go). He wasn’t, and nobody was servicing our table. We sat waiting again until we finally decided to request for assistance and order — after a waitress came from two other tables where we noticed they too needed to walk the waitress over to their table for an order. We finally ordered our food and coffees, and then received our food not too much later(timing was good). We did not however receive our coffees and we had to remind two different people that we had ordered them… And then another waitress came again to ‘remind her what our order was’. Turns out it was forgotten and it was much too late by the time we received them. We were nearly finished eating and just weren’t too impressed. Luckily — the food was good, but a little pricey for what was received. I think that good service is a MUST, even if it is supposed to be a little more ‘relaxed’. At least a kinder attitude or proper COMMUNICATION from the staff would have been nice.

Been here several times for breakfast and lunch and it never fails to impress! Breakfast service is usually very busy and probably more so at present because of the ‘sculptures by the sea’ but they don’t take bookings for breakfast and have plenty of tables so even at peak time the wait for a table was 5 mins. The food is expensive compared to other places and there was a bit of a wait to actually get our food, but it was worth it! Between us we had the big breakfast, crab scrambled eggs on toast and poached eggs on toast with avocado and grilled tomatoes, with fresh juices, best hangover cure and really good portion sizes. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, but doable, we actually parked a 10 minute walk away on Broome Street by the civic centre to avoid the chaos and was actually good to go for a short stroll with such full bellies!

I’ve been to BlueWaters for brunch and dinner a handful of times and all meals were memorable. In a city where ½ the menus all look the same and are served by zombie servers who don’t care, the team from front to back try to differentiate. And, they should not only because they are a small business, but because they charge a premium price. For brunch, if you’re in the mood try a Bloody Mary(one of the best around) with your meal, and for dinner look for some of seafood specials; fresh seafood is what they do best! Keep things fresh and service high! My only tip to owners/management would be I think for dinner they need to spruce up the outdoor tables

Dropped in here for a quick birthday lunch and loved it. It’s a great location, although not right on the water like The Blue Duck just down the road. Still, it has a nice fit out and feel and you can watch the world go by. The food was well priced and BIG serves. Complete food coma after ciabatta bread to start(a whole loaf…) and chorizo followed by Tiger Prawn linguini. All great. Happy birthday to me…

Stopped in for breakfast one morning since it was right next to our hotel. I had a delicious cheese omelet with chorizo; portion size was huge. Good coffee. Total old man hangout in the morning. Nice spot to relax, read, people watch.

Usually when a place in a prime location isn’t full of people all the time its an indicator that the food, drinks, service or all three are lacking. The most central of the cafes along Marine Parade in Cottesloe, Bluewaters doesn’t fit this stereotype. The food here is great, especially the eggs benedict for breakfast(joyous hollandaise sauce), the coffee is tasty and there’s solid service. Its a perfect place to people watch those cross section of visitors to the beach from the seats outside on the pavement, and if it gets too cold warm green blankets are supplied — how thoughtful!
