Despite my ticket plainly stating I was a gold partner member with Delta, and the number of my partner account being plainly printed on my Virgin boarding pass, I was refused entry. Just another example of the laziness exhibited by certain Workers in Australia and the disdain they have for non-Australians. This lounge did not honor their agreement.

There are so many things to love about this lounge! It’s certainly cleaner and nicer than ones in the states. The staff comes around to collect any items or food that needs to be discarded and the wifi password is available on top of stations for convenience.

As an avid Virgin flyer with free lounge access I love their lounges but Sydney, you renovated, and I was so looking fwd to the view from the new upper level, but it is only open on very busy periods ie Thurs and Friday afternoons or mornings. Why have an upper deck overlooking airport activity and not use it? Apart from that the rest is great good wine, great soups in winter, consistent with their other lounges across Australia, good service at counter and clean and tidy with free wifi. A must if travelling frequently. Way to go Virgin. You would get a 4 star rating if you just opened your upper deck maybe even a 5…

So much nicer than the Delta clubs I’m used to the states with a great variety of food and drink. Our family of four were invited into the club based on our Delta status(one diamond, two gold, one no status) when we checked in at the priority desk and dropped off our luggage in the main terminal. The very nice lady sent us outside and down a few steps to a special priority door where we rechecked and went through security screening with absolutely no waiting. Inside the club we were able to assemble and make grilled cheese, grilled ham and cheese and grilled roast beef and cheese paninis using the panini presses. This was a great(and free) lunch and was just what we needed. The club is spacious, bright and very clean feeling and so calming. I’m definitely a fan!

The upgrade is complete and the lounge is much larger. The good offering is better and having the large windows helps offset the starkness of the new lounge ambience. Nice relaxing place to wait for your flight.

I suppose it’s ok for an airport lounge. You’ve got free wi-fi that works relatively well, even when the rest of the lounge is using it also. The bar is stocked well, but the food selection is a little lacking. This really brings it down in my opinion. The service, though, is consistently good. Added touch: it has its own security checkpoint, separate to the rest of the airport. An added touch of exclusivity. It apparently extends over two levels, though the second level was closed when I went.

The Qantas Club lounge is better. Careful not too be too harsh as Virgin Australia are currently undergoing renovations to their Sydney lounge. The selection of teas is great, and they have the occasional magazine to read. You don’t want to be here for longer than an hour. It gets crowded and uncomfortable. Luckily I was here last Saturday for an earlyish flight to Melbourne. The breakfast wasn’t too bad: toast with yoghurt and salad. In The Qantas Club you can also have pancakes and a chai latte for breakfast. The seating needs to be improved, yet you’re missing out on some great shops and eateries in the terminal area. Better to use your Virgin Australia lounge passes at other airports. I think things will be better once the renovations are completed. The plus is the barista coffee at breakfast time. I just have to endure them one more time next Monday week for my trip to the Sunshine Coast. For me, I now prefer Qantas.

Not the best lounge we’ve been in but everything’s there that you could want to eat or drink and plenty of room to sit down. Defo beats wandering around the terminal(now that Harry’s Café de Wheels has closed)
