Excellent post-beach outing option. Just a short 3 min walk from the main entrance to Manly Beach, this street side restaurant offers seating in the sun, great lunch deals, strong drinks, and great food. That’s JUST about all you need at a great restaurant, with the exception of great service(which as it turns out Australia is not known for given the very high minimum wage). The service at this spot was par for the course. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, my friends ordered the nachos and burrito. Each item was amongst the most fair-priced items we’d seen on a menu during our entire time in Australia. So, you gotta be willing to swallow a hit to the wallet, but the food you’ll swallow here will make up for it. See what I did there? ;-) Make this spot happen. Cheers mate, Evan

There are a few Mexican restaurants in Manly and whilst this one has the beachside location it does not get across the line on food quality or value. The burritos use to be better however now they seem a bit stodgy and have too much rice. Expensive too, without any sides. The fajitas are great and come out steaming hot. There are a few unusual items on the menu as well e.g. crocodile burrito. They also do nice cocktails. I have been here at least 6 times. I think the place was better when it first opened but the wait staff are pleasant. There was one occasion where there was a large bug in our water jug which concerned me in terms of cleanliness. The waiter was apathetic about it when we complained, rather than showing some interest. For lunch time I’d visit but for dinner you are better off at Manly Mexican on Belgrave St. GREAT food with many sides and a nice selection of wine and cocktails. Unfortunately Manly Mexican isn’t open for lunch. Tips: 1. Fajitas are better value than the burritos 2. Check water jug for bugs ;) 3. You can easily rack up a large bill if you aren’t careful 4. It doesn’t look like it but they do takeaway. I wouldn’t recommend though because it is the same price as if you eat in the restaurant.

Awesome guacamole. They have kangaroo fajitas and crocodile burritos. Not very authentic, I know… but at the same time I appreciate the unique twist. If you find that strange, no worries — you can still get all the more standard options. I liked the steak fajitas. It’s a touch pricey, but not outrageous. I’d place it in my Top 3 Mexican Restaurants in Sydney… which is a very prestigious and sought-after(imaginary) honor.

Damn the burrito market in Australia! It just doesn’t seem fair that a small handful of places have a firm ball grasp on every Mexican food lover in this small radius. I was in Manly yesterday and craving a tortilla wrapped pile of rice /beans /cheese. And bad. While the burrito’s bastard stepchild, the kabab, will suffice on most occasions, this wasn’t one of them. I walked up to Mexico Via Manly with a childlike sense of excitement and wonder. It only took one short glance at the menu to be emotionally bulldozed by sight of one little number. 17. As in, these mo-fos are charging SEVENTEENWHOLEDOLLARS for a burrito?! So I did a little pacing and pouting and eventually decided to folk it over. I chose take away and as I sat on the beach and took my first bite, I was pretty satisfied with the decision. The«carnitas» was actually cubes of crunchy, over-fried pork, but the guacamole was delicious. If I ate with my eyes closed I could almost pretend that the white rice was real Mexican rice. So final verdict? No freakin’ way was that sucker worth near 20 bucks(after guac added), but would I do it again? Yeah, probably.
