Another friendly neighborhood A-OK place where the staff know exactly how you feel. You are hungry, you are feeling tired, you just need a quick snack to get you through… After a few swift motions, you will walk out with a Yiros in hand. There are a few outdoor tables, but this is a in-and-out place, 5-minutes-inside-don’t-even-think-of-a-bathroom-run kind of place. Definitely worth a visit and keep them in your radar. Just avoid the desserts, they are expensive and not so good. Stick to savory.

I went here to buy my partner lunch the day after he had such a big night that he was moaning around, hoping for a combination yiros and chips. This basic shop makes a delicious yiros with really lovely service. The only unfortunate thing about this place is the lack of EFTPOS machine, which means I had to walk two shopping buildings away to get money out of an ATM in the IGA. And they didn’t have chips. However — the shop owner(I assume) was so lovely about it that he rounded the order off to $ 20(it should’ve been $ 22.50) because of the inconvenience regarding the EFTPOS. They will be getting EFTPOS soon, he assured me! Great tasty yiros!

Yep Savvas is a good yiros, not the best in Adelaide, but a good one nonetheless. I do think the location is a factor in its popularity however. I mean think about it, you’ve got the Glenelg yiros, the city yiros, and the north-eastern yiros’, in the middle it’s yiros desert. That is if this little baby wasn’t here. In a nutshell– far far better than nothing!

My parents used to have Savvas every Friday night. They’d buy a tub of meat, some bread and salads and make the yiros at home in front of the telly. It turned into quite a ritual. I stopped here recently and decided to indulge in a yiros rather than my usual Indian. It was really good. The service was great and the guy who served me(obviously the owner) went out of his way to engage us and even gave us a small side dish to try on the house. It’s all a little bit greasy for me, but the yiros meat is really good and if ever I feel the craving again, I’ll be back.

Great yiros place! The chips here are amazing, and they do the AB. Very nice staff.

Savvas, for years my firends and I were obsessed with this place. I don’t really see what I saw in it so much these days. I think there is point when young men are coming of age that they suddenly become ravenous in hunger for chunks of flesh and garlic sauce, maybe a splash of tabouli, and territorial about where they consume it. We used to drive from miles around to meet at Savvas, the best yiros place in the world. As i think back on it now, perhaps it was more the ritual and social aspects of Savvass which gave it its appeal. I have been back there lately, and the yiros certainly is good. However, I’m a bit older now, and certainly not as hungover as I was back then. It dosen’t seem like a magical yiros anymore, just a normal yiros.
