I needed to grab a couple of cakes for a team meeting at the last minute and decided to walk into Francois as I have walked past on plenty of occasions but never gone in. Their range of cakes, tarts, macaroons and other edible goodies looked amazing and I had a hard time deciding what to get! I ended up with a Chocolate Truffle Cake and a Lemon Tart and both of them were simply amazing. Everybody told me how good they both were and there was nothing left at the end to take home, everything was eaten. We have since been in for small(less than 4 people — there isn’t much room for larger groups) catch ups a few times and the staff are friendly, prompt and the pastries are just as good each time.

This Swiss patisserie in a small unassuming building in Leederville churns out what I think are the most delicious & authentic cakes, breads & pastries. They create beautiful cakes for any occasion and are very reasonably priced. They also serve great coffee so you can come in and enjoy coffee & a slice of cake or a pastry and forget the diet. The owner Francois & his staff are very hardworking and dedicated to what they do. 5 Stars!

Francois is my favourite secret find. Located in a car park off Newcastle Street in Leederville this quaint little café is usually quite quiet, and therefore a favourite of mine for 2 person business meetings. I would not recommend it for large groups, but it really is perfect for smaller catch ups with friends. Service: I have always been immediately greeted and served by the loveliest staff. Coffee and food is served quickly and the staff are more than happy to help you with any catering requests and queries. Food: The coffee is always delicious, and the fridge is always full of fresh quiches, gourmet rolls as well as delicious cakes, delectable chocolates and scrumptious pastries. I have enjoyed their gourmet rolls for lunch and work catering numerous times. The cakes are always a crowd pleaser at birthdays, overflowing with flavour and the tarts overflowing with delicious fresh fruits and the perfect shortcrust pastry. As for the pastries, I would go as far as saying that Francois Mille-feuille(vanilla slice) is the best in Perth. The pastry is crisp and flaky, the custard has a creamy smooth texture and a balance of vanilla taste and the fondant is smooth and shiny. True perfection. Recommendation: Once you’ve tried Francois pastries, macaroons and cakes you will be unable to resist.

I have recently rediscovered this place after an absence of a few years and it has quickly become my favourite place to have breakfast in Leederville. The patisserie itself is very cute and well presented and you can always expect to be greeted with a smile. The croissants are as authentic as you could possibly expect, flaky, delicate and buttery, and I would eat one every single day if I thought it was a sensible idea. The quiche Lorraine is another favourite of mine, with a creamy rich filling cased in an exquisite pastry base. In addition, they also carry a great selection of sandwiches and delicious breads. All the sweets are incredible, I am specially a fan of the palmiers and the little tarts, which are made with fresh custard. It is without a doubt the best patisserie in Perth and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Swiss Delight Came here for a bit over dessert after lunch nearby. The Chocolate truffle is recommended. The macaroons are also quiet nice. The green tea flavour being a personal favourite. The service is friendly and all the cakes, macaroons and truffles are all quiet impressive. Its desert done well. Check it out.
