Great friendly service. Exquisite food, prepared fresh n vibrant flavours, with a great tequila and cocktail menu to match. Upbeat mex tunes added to the casual atmosphere, making for an entertaining evening regardless of plans. With reasonable prices to boot. Can’t go wrong stopping into this fine establishment if you’re ever around leederville.

We went here quite a while ago on a voucher and we had a great time! The décor was very cool, the staff was über friendly and talkative and the food was incredible! We had quesadillas, tacos, burritos and cocktails(among other things!) and they were all very tasty, fresh and delivered in a timely manner. No complaints and long overdue for another visit sometime very soon!

Wednesdays. $ 15 nachos and any drink. ANY drink. One of the most satisfying nachos I’ve had. Full of meat and not overloaded with chips. Not massive either, just the perfect serve. Loved it.

This place is great if you want cheap eats and a full belly. If you’re seeking genuine Mexican food, go elsewhere. It’s got a pretty cool graffitti façade and has a chilled out vibe with reggaeton music playing. Started our evening with an Aguila beer(Colombian, $ 10) a bottle of Argentinian Malbec($ 30). Service was prompt and friendly and menu is VERY reasonably priced. Started with chorizo($ 10, delicious and plentiful) and the ceviche(unfortunately a total cop out). The ceviche(technically a Peruvian dish) was actually a plate of corn chips with tomato and capsicum salsa and a few bits of fish. NOT a genuine ceviche which is raw fish in lime juice with onion, chilli etc. Underwhelmed. My dining pal’s Burrito($ 16) was filling and flavoursome. I had the Vera Cruz Zucchini which was tasty and sufficient. All in all, good for quick, cheap and filling eats but nothing to write home about.

Went here on a Sunday night for dinner. The waitress was über friendly. Brought water straightaway to the table. I ordered jalapeño poppers which were battered jalapenos with sour cream. They were absolutely divine and the best appetizer I’ve had in ages. Not for those who can’t handle their spice. I also got the chilli conne carne burrito with hot sauce. I don’t usually like burritos as I find them unhealthy but this one was delicious, filling and flavoursome. Filled with cheese, jalapenos, rice and comes with a side salad. I also got their churros with dark chocolate. Crispy but not oily and scrumptious. Best ones I’ve had though I had to wait 20 minutes for them. I love this place but wish they had a coffee machine. They don’t do any hot drinks and you really need a hot drink with your churros. Between my friend and I, we ordered three starters, a burrito, the churros and a guava Mexican soda all for 61 bucks. Great value for money!

Why didn’t I Unilocal it first?! An absolute disaster and I dined on a Sunday night with 3 others at 630. Started off great, got a table really quickly, beers were fast, orders were taken, corn chips and dips arrived 15mins later and then… The waiters all ghosted on us. So much so we were all flagging down anyone we could, felt a bit like that 90s movie ‘heart and souls’. After 60minutes(yes, seriously) we complained to the manager who said the chef lost the docket, the two then had an visible argument in front of us. No apologizes, no offer to comp drinks or corn chips. Thankfully faithful Zamberos saved us before our movie started at Luna. Steer clear of Chiqui’s.

Ok, so I couldn’t bring myself to give this place more than 1 star. If we could give none, I probably would have except we did have a very friendly waiter, who deserves a mention. I’m finding«mexican» sort of has a trend going atm, and like all trends and fads, will bring in a mix of good and not so good things along to the table. I’m a huge fan of mexican stuff… From the culture, cuisine, art and so on. I’ve experienced what proper mexican food is, and I can tell you, it extends so much further than nachos, burritos and salsa. I found this place to be a gimmicky version or if you rather a «white mans» version of what they think mexican is… So we started with a couple of honey margaritas, which on first taste was very strong(not complaining there!) However I could only taste a strong artificial lime flavor rather than any honey… The food was bland and and unauthentic. Our ceviche was all chopped chilli and peppers, I think there were two prawns cut into small pieces up in there somewhere. Where was all the fish? The zucchini frijoles dish we had literally looked like they just dumped a can of refried beans over two slices of zucchini and put cheese and diced capsicum as a garnish. And then the chicken tacos… Again, tasted that canned taste, which im guessing was a tomato kind of paste mixed with the shredded chicken. And 4 tiny saucers with basic sour cream avocado mash(I wouldn’t even call it guacamole) and shredded lettuce, and cheese. The décor of this place, looked kinda like a tattoo parlor, very brightly colored with a few feature paintings of typical gimmicky«dia de Los muertos» paintings. Couldn’t say I was a fan of the loud club music playing either… Seemed to me they didn’t go to too much effort to find out what real mexican is, they just took a fad that’s out and tried to roll with it.

I missed their opening night and have been eager to get here since… I had higher expectations — for mexican I expect rich, intense flavours and my meals were quite bland.(the guacamole and the deconstructed tortillas). However I may be a little too harsh on the rating considering I was there at 10.30pm on a Saturday. The interior is pretty cool tho — tables spaced apart quite well. The prices are pretty reasonable aswell. Also several pieces of amazing artwork from Joseph at ArtByDestroy. Check it. I will return to try the cocktails and give the food another go at a more reasonable hour. Watch this space…
