What a nice surprise! Haven’t been to Cranked for a while and it was fabulous. We had the Steak Special which was served with Dirty Taters and it did not disappoint. The steak was seasoned to perfection and so very tender and the potato was spot-on. We also had the Vegan stuffed mushrooms which were great. The prices are so reasonable $ 28 for Steak and $ 16 for mushrooms and the wine was reasonable too. Service was prompt and efficient. Definitely will go back to the quieter end of Oxford. Thank you Cranked!

Had dinner at Cranked 6 November 2015. Friendly, informative and attentive staff. $ 28 steak and spuds/skins was really good, cooked medium with a glass of red. Wife had calamari which was tender and tasty. Bottled beer and wine by the glass all $ 5 which must be a Friday special. Irish coffee to end. Live music and the setting adjacent to park give an open feel. A good evening at a reasonable price. A pleasant spot for daytime coffee breakfast or lunch too, especially after a bike ride.

Went for breakfast during the week and the place was surprisingly full, but not too busy which is a good thing. Were greeted with a smile and waitress took coffee orders straight away. Ordered vegetarian poached eggs with chili flakes and my friend had bacon egg sub. My dish was one of the best breakfasts i have ever eaten and my latte had just perfect amount of froth and beautiful crema. Had to wait awhile for the bill and waitress forgot us few times. There were customers queuin in front of the counter where baristas served coffees, which created abit confusion. Overall beautiful place:)

Dirty glasses of water served up on arrival. Limited menu at 10am, stale bread and cold coffee. Well done cranked. NOT

I LOVED Cranked, and I don’t even drink coffee! I went there for lunch on an exceptionally hot January day, and thankfully chose seating inside. Even with the fans it was still almost uncomfortably warm inside and the only suggestion I have would be to get some better air conditioning for the warmer months. It was a weekday, so it was pretty quiet, but we were seated immediately. After some careful consideration(there were easily 5 or 6 things I’d like to try on the menu) I settled on the fennel crusted lamb with a cucumber and mint salad, a sweet potato rosti and a beautiful mint yogurt sauce. It sounded amazing but when it came out I was blown away — it smelled even better than it sounded. Cutting into the lamb I discovered it was perfectly cooked, tender, and the flavour of the fennel combined with the lamb and the yogurt sauce was just.wow. The cucumber was a much needed refreshment especially given how hot it was. The potato rosti was crispy and full of flavour. Everything on the plate just worked in perfect harmony with each other and I loved every little bite. The service was great — the staff were prompt, friendly and efficient and our meals came out in good time. What was a little surprising was how well priced all the meals were and how large the portion sizes are. I also didn’t get around to trying their juices, but they have a few freshly made juices on the menu which I’d love to try. Well that does it, I’ve just convinced myself to go back!

Great place for breakky or just a coffee. I have been here a few times and had breakfast a couple of times and coffee other times. The service is good, and one of the few cafes that does table service which I found handy! Breakfast has a great selection and although nothing too out of the ordinary, they do offer some ‘different’ options. They also serve New Norcia bread for toasxt which is the best! This place is also very popular with cyclists, providing plenty of room to park bike, but expect to see some lycra clad people there.

Had a muffin and a coffee. The muffin was decent, the coffee alright. The convenience of the train station and playground seem to be good selling points.

I stopped at Cranked for lunch today and surprisingly it’s the first time I’ve ever eaten at the café. Other cafes and restaurants in Leederville have always lured me in but having the entertainment app handy led me to try it out. I opted for the Israeli couscous dish with added chicken and a vanilla milkshake. The couscous dish was a good choice. The plump couscous balls were paired with roasted vegetables and grilled chicken. It was fresh, healthy and tasty. The vanilla milkshake was huge for a measly $ 5 and served in the metal milkshake cup. In addition to the good meal, I took a seat outside overlooking the newly developed play area in Leedy. The service was really polite and friendly. Why only 3 stars when I’ve mentioned that everything was reasonably good about my experience? While the dish I chose was tasty there wasn’t too much else on the menu that looked outstanding. The overall atmosphere and décor of the venue lacked that cosy feel. In comparison to other cafes in Leedy, I think I’d still walk past Cranked to others on the strip.

This place gets a bad reputation for bad service, to be honest coming her a number of times I haven’t had any issues. At peak times, yes service for food and coffee can get a little slow but to be honest, this is the case for most cafes in Perth. The breakfast menu is diverse, are good sizes and a there are some interesting options if you want to get away from the usual boring breakfast. The Crank Addict is my favourite with smoked chorizo and parmesan cheese. Being attached to the bike shop, with plenty of bike parking it’s a great place for that mid way /end or ride coffee stop.

Went here for breakfast with a friend this morning. Luckily we booked a table as it was packed! They have a great mix of food at reasonable prices. They also had juices/smoothies for $ 6.50 which is cheap for Perth! Full table service by friendly staff is a huge plus. Their chai latte is one of the best I’ve had in a long time, and the meal(zuchinni and goats cheese fritters with salmon, tomato and baby spinach) was delicious! Definitely somewhere I will be going back to, and soon!

Hard toast, don’t really know how you can screw up toast, but the toast I had I struggled to cut with a knife … first piece was ok, by the time I got to the second piece I wish I had complained sooner … and by then I couldn’t be bothered … The coffee’s were ok and so were the pancakes. Service was ok, not great. Probably won’t go back.

Had a lunch here with a college. He went for the steak, as a vegetarian I went for the Frittata patties and some salad. Portions were small, but given the fact that it was lunch and we should not overeat anyway, it was just right. Parking is a problem, although there is a 250 car parking next door, it took me 15 minutes to get a place. It is nicely situated in the centre of Leederville. The price was acceptable, but my colleague paid. I can recommend this place, location is good, food good standard, and friendly staff.

came here for breakfast. had ice coffee with sauteed mushroom. the lemon juice was a bit too heavy on the mushroom and a bit too salty for me too… the others had big boy’s breakfast with latte & french toast with juice. both were alright, but the sausage & the bacon was also a bit salty. an ok place.

5 stars for the meal I had for breakfast: home made muesli and a flat white. Presented well and quite delicious. The mix of oats, fruit, nuts, and coconut shavings made for a good mix.

The coffee here is very good! So good I ordered far too many and spent the rest of the day jittery! Happy with that. The wait staff were unaware that spelt bread was not gluten free. It is wheat free but definitely not gluten free, it would be better to go the whole hog and stock gluten free bread rather than a half way token gesture. I ordered scrambled eggs and pesto tomatoes. The serve of eggs was enormous and they were slippery soft rather than fluffy. I quite like my eggs this way so no complaints. The tomatoes were a bit oily for my liking but this would have been circumvented if there was some toast to mop things up. Will def be back for the coffee

You may feel more at home here wearing Lycra, but Cranked is not just for latte-sipping cyclists. The first thing to note about the food at Cranked is one item on the menu called ‘Monkey Business’. Possibly THE best banana bread you will ever taste… It may actually mean you can never eat banana bread from anywhere else though, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. The coffees are also excellent and they offer one of the best all round breakfast menus in town. Well laid out and family friendly, get there early on weekends to avoid queuing for a table.

A great little place to have breakfast or brunch with friends, their menu is quite varied and caters for most people’s taste but my favourite has to be their zucchini and goats cheese fritters with smoked salmon; can it get better than this? Otherwise for a quick bite their savoury muffins are also worth the try and apparently their coffee is also quite delicious(unfortunately I’m not much of a coffee drinker myself). The setting is also quite nice you can either sit inside and hide away for the sun or if you want to enjoy some fresh air and people watch they have an exterior terrace housing covered areas, the only down side to this is it looks out onto the parking lot but I’m sure not many people will be fussed by this once they try the food.

I like this place, I mean it is not my favourite coffee shop in Leederville but to get away from the hussle bussle and for a more chilled out vibe this is perfect. They sell decent coffees and they are all pretty reasonably priced too. I enjoy the different crowd to some of the other coffee shops in Leederville such as Greens and Co. It is slightly older, which makes a nice change.

This place has an attractive, laidback vibe and I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so. The clientele here run the gamut: the young and hip, the slightly older and either impregnated or stroller-pushing, the middle-aged and business-suited, and the retired. And then there’s me, ordering my customary double espresso and trying covertly to photograph everyone for this website, to show off the demographic range and also the various areas that the place has been broken up into. Those zones include indoor tables of various sizes and shapes and an outdoor one sporting much the same. Actually, now that I write it, it strikes me that there are only two zones. The number two is not very varied, but I can assure you that when you’re actually on site it does seem that there are multiple options, at least as far as seating goes. I haven’t had the food, but the coffee is excellent, and as places to drink the stuff along this strip go it is easily my favourite.

Whenever friends ask«which one is Cranked again?» my general reply is, «oh you know that green building on the corner of Oxford, next to the car park…» and by then a memory of a good coffee, meal or cocktail has sprung to mind and we close the conversation saying it is a great place to go, and we should remember to go more often. Cranked is named after the owners love of cycling, and this point being reinforced by it’s adjoining door to the bicycle shop next door and the constant flow of cyclers stopping by for some poached eggs on toast or a refreshing juice. There aren’t many places left that will offer table service, but at Cranked you can come and relax while one of the friendly team brings you water and menus. You can sit back and enjoy socialising while your food and drinks are brought to you. The Fiori coffee is so satisfying and seems to fuel the local workers for the day. They offer delicious treats on the run, such as their homemade banana bread and freshly baked muffins. This is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner as the chefs have a creative and tasty menu perfected. The portions are not too big or too small, it seems to be just right as you polish off a warm and comforting winter dish, or a refreshing and light summer meal, feeling full and satisfied. Their dinner tapas menu is divine, I would highly recommend the lamb, some time on it is still the best lamb I’ve ever tasted. There is a wine and beer list with selections to match your meal. It is a vibrant and friendly place to go, the staff are personable the coffee is excellent, and the food somehow even better. It’s location is amazing as you can sit and watch the eclectic and bizarre characters of Leederville pass by.
