Trotters Café in Joondalup pays homage to Only Fools and Horses, one of the greatest TV comedies of all time, which followed the lives of South London market trader Del Boy and his brother Rodney in episodes spanning over 30 years. The café is brought to you by the folks who run El Mexicano and is conveniently located right next door to it, directly opposite Bunnings. Although it’s «UK» themed don’t let that scare you off, it’s not all chip butties and fry-ups — Trotters Café is about quality, affordable café food. The pies & sausage rolls are hand-made in store, and I tried a chicken & leek pie which was delicious — flaky pastry and tasty filling made with good quality meat. One of the unique things about Trotters Café is the hot buffet selection & salad bar, with selections changing every day. There are also fresh rolls and cakes available in the counter fridge. I was surprised by the amount of people coming into such a new café, there was a constant stream of local workers and shoppers grabbing coffee and pies. Their strategy is to keep prices low while providing quality food, and it looks like they might be onto a winning formula. Trotters Café is open seven days a week, from 6:30am Monday to Saturday and from 7:30am on Sundays. I heard that owner and chef supremo Max runs the show on Sundays and likes to cook breakfast, so do yourself a favour and pay Trotters Café a visit. Cushty!

Good for quick lunch options as sandwiches in cabinet are ready to go. Much like a corner lunch-bar but with better décor and ambiance! Very convenient having the playground in the middle. The buffet has hot food. Cold salad buffet all items are in separate containers, make your fav. Good for those who are a bit picky! Today they also had soup, bit chilly but with seating undercover and nice glimpses of warm sunshine makes all the difference when enjoying your meal or coffee. Service, very friendly and also table service if they’re not busy. I had the lemon cheesecake. You could definitely tell it was homemade. Lots of flavour and texture. At $ 4 thats pretty good! They tell me a lot of there items are homemade. Which is great cause who wants to eat commercially made cheesecake? Kinda defeats the purpose of eating out!!! We also had hot Chips & the best home made & tastiest gravy in Perth! I will definitely come back & try something different next time!
