This place is so over priced. Specially considering they have one at the university where casual and part time workers can’t afford $ 6 for a 600mL juice when Coles sells a 2L bottle of fresh OJ for $ 5.50… Nothing is fresh enough to be worth the price unless they gonna start putting out fresh slices every day and start a table service.

Unbelievably terrible pasta. Tortellini is full of uncooked onion. It’s like the cook cut up the onions and added them in later making the béchamel sauce taste like onion. The Spaghetti Bolognese just tastes like boiled water and has the same onion-overload. My ‘regular sized pasta’ could easily fit on the ‘small’ so I’m not sure why they bother with different sizes. The pasta was also slopped onto the plate and half of the plate was covered in onion-laced slop. As for the payment methods available, why have 2 tills and only have 1EFTPOS machine? Terrible.

Aroma is a fine balancing act — part fast-food joint, and part café. It does both moderately well, without excelling in either field. There is a limit to how fast you can make a coffee, so ordering at Aroma necessitates a wait period. Depending on how many people are there, sometimes the wait can be quite long. The coffees are decent for the most part. The food, on the other hand, is disappointingly bland. Their muffins look nice but are stale and dry. Overall — Aroma is not a bad choice if you are looking for a coffee on the go, but avoid the food.

One of the worst coffees I have ever had was from here. I have been to different Aroma Cafes before and have never had a bad experience, so when this one popped up in Joondalup I didn’t think twice about getting a coffee there. I always order the same thing where ever I go and maybe that is why I have some sort of standards. I ordered a latte, how hard can it be? Apparently quite hard, it was disgusting, I never get rid of a coffee not even an instant coffee, but the milk was burnt and I don’t even know how to describe the taste of the whole thing other than, gross. I am not sure if it was just the person that made that particular coffee, but after that I don’t want to give it another chance. What is the point? There are many different coffee shops in Joondalup that are fantastic!

This is my favourite coffee. I literally, and I mean literally, get a vanilla latte everyday before work. It’s smooth and creamy and is just the right amount of sweet but has just enough of a kick to get me going at work. It is really quick service, especially considering how busy it always is. The food here is amazing as well. My favourites are the lemon lime brulee, breakfast wrap and the blueberry ricotta cake. Pair any one of them with their amazing coffee and it will put you in the best mood for the best of the day. And the best part is the discount I get because I work in the centre. Sweet. Also, second best chips and gravy in Perth.
