This isn’t a place where you’ll take your time to shop. If you’re looking for something in particular, my advise is write your list down, look for them & get out. That is if you can find your way out. Directions isn’t very clear & to my recollection, there isn’t any directions where which section is. All I wanted was 1 thing & was distracted by weird stuff along the way. Trolleys filled with stuff(supposedly to be placed back at its respective place?). When I turn the corner, another stack of mismatched stuff. Out of my curiosity, I had a look to see if they were marked-down stock. To my disappointment, they weren’t! Spotlight used to be more cheery. Along the years, it’s quality has dropped & everything seems dull. This store needs a revamp/tidying/organizing. Needs more staff. Queues at counters are way too long. Carpark is also almost impossible.

Its great if u know exactly what u r looking for and if they have it in stock. But if you need help its hopeless. Staff seem distracted and try to avoid customers at times. Stock and shelves are not maintained well they seem to have everything muddled up. Was not happy when received attitude when asked if they had any public toilets.(I suffer from IBS). Then having a key with a giant keyring shoved at me and told its near the back of the shop. And ppl who have been there know how big it is. Then spending 20 mins search for the toilet with stomach cramps and a giant keychain that basically showed everyone i needed the toilet. Ever since that bad toilet experience i avoid there if my tummy is slightly funny. Carpark is large but poorly designed so get used to beeping horns. Also no easy exit if u go in and want to leave empty handed coz j can’t find what u want.

If you spend the time rummaging for good sale item its worth it! Sometimes get some great bargins but I find a lot of stuff is over priced and is worth waiting till they do sales, because they always have sales and heavily discount items. Gave it 3 stars as there is always a massive line and wait just to pay and the staff dont seem happy to be there.

If I could give this Spotlight 10-stars, I would. I’ve been searching for this place for the 14 months I’ve resided in Perth. Of all the Spotlights in town, this is by far the Mecca of crafts. Aisles upon aisles are dedicated to skeins, hooks, and tunisian and larger than life needles. What I found in one trip to this Spotlight, I would have had to travel to 5 places in Perth… something I find frustrating. This is the«Michael’s» or «Hobby Lobby» of Perth… stores an expat would know. The stores allocation to fabric was overwhelming to my eyes. Now granted a lot of the fabric would look fantastic on a twelve-year-old’s ice skating costume from what I quickly saw(the bright and sequins stood out)… but there is a huge selection, which is more than I can say for any other Spotlight I’ve been to. To be blunt, I’ve undervalued Spotlight until walking into this particular location. If only all of their locations had this much space allocated to crafts including needle pointing, quilling and plastic canvas! As always customer service was just blah. The cashiers were unfriendly and unknowing about anything regarding their free knit class, nor had an interest to find out for me. But as I said, I was so impressed with this store that I won’t dock stars. A lesson on friendliness and how to smile is always beneficial to any establishment. From what I understand each Spotlight has their own classes, times and prices(or no charge). I’d call to confirm details, but this location has free classes on the first Sunday of every month. Something worth considering when places like Wooly Lattes charge over $ 20.

This massive warehouse style home wares shop has a little bit of everything for the parents in the room. Fabric, window covers(I think their called blinds?), art and craft supplies, fancy dress and everything in between. I used to make my own jewellery as a fresh faced 11-year-old because I was such an indie childhood. Diva was too mainstream for me. I used to get all my supplies at Spotlight because of the great prices. Now as a semi-adult I have grown to resent the place that continually reminds me of the life I have to(not) look forward to. Making costumes for snot nosed kids and putting up venetians. Ew.
