I’m obsessed with French Twist macaroons! They always have awesome flavors to try. I’ve gone here twice before work planning to save my macaroons for an after work treat… and then proceed to scarf down 3 or 4 macaroons each time in a matter of minutes before my shift. I’ve had some really awesome flavors such as: rocky road, peppermint, honeycomb, cold press iced coffee, m&m, and tim tam. Of course they have the standard faves like salted caramel and such, but I’ve always gotta try something you can’t typically find. Get in and try some!

Still great treats but no more Taylor’s Scottish Breakfast tea :(. A real bummer. The coffee is great but the tea really brought me!

I have been a fan of the French Twist franchise for many years now. I find that they make excellent coffee, cakes and bread. Although the Indooroopilly store meets my expectations in regards to said goods, sadly, it has a few set-backs. Anyone who has been to the French Twist as the Barracks or South Bank would be well aware that the Indooroopily French Twist does not have the same ambiance as these stores. This is not my complaint though because I completely understand that the intention of the store is to be a quick-stop/takeaway café and for a café situated in the middle of the shopping centre, they have done a good job. What upsets me is how slow the service can be, especially when ordering a coffee. I have ordered takeaway coffees and waited 15 minutes to receive it. For someone who only gets 30 minute breaks at work sometimes, this is far too long. Such a shame because their coffee is really good. I do not blame the staff for this, but the fact that they only have one coffee machine for the entire café. Given how popular the place is, you would think they would have invested in another coffee machine. If it weren’t for the slow service, I would probably get my takeaway coffee from them all the time. Sadly, I have to settle for Gloria jeans(which is no where near as good).

They have the 3 savoury little snack sized pastries for $ 4.50, but to be honest, I like them to be at least a little hot when i’m eating them. Major let down eating a cold pastry with olive and feta on it. I love olive and feta, don’t do this to me. You looked so promising! They usually have these free samples of french bread and an olive dip on top of the counter but it’s always kind of stale and the owner(i’m assuming is the owner) is always usually standing over them, breathing on them making sure people don’t double dip… come on dude. The result, no one eats the samples and they go stale(see?). The baguettes are very nice though, they are baked pretty well, I love buying myself one and taking it home to make some garlic bread, always a winner with the family dinners when it’s pasta night. The cappacinos aren’t the strongest, the latte’s are okay at best. My Chai Latte was decent. But as they say location location location… I think being in the middle of a busy shopping centre does do them some harm and ruin the ambience of the place.

After walking around Indooroopilly Shopping centre til my feet hurt one day, all I was craving was a sit down and a coffee. My friend recommended French Twist because their lattes are smooth. He was right, the latte I got was great and the staff really friendly. Stuck in the middle of the walkway, this Café has little atmosphere. You still very much feel like you are in the shopping centre, with trolleys gliding by, screaming children, and teenagers kissing on the escalators. However, the coffee made up for this and there were enough seats for us to chill out for just the right amount of time to gain the energy to drag our shopping back to the car and head home.
