A disappointing journey over the river. Come here because I had seen their amazing Instagram and thought that it looked delicious. So I was underwhelmed when the smashed avocado on toast came out in bread(not toasted?) on a plastic plate(pet peeve) and was less than tasty.(I don’t know how you can make avocado taste not nice but somehow they did). The staff were really disorganised and all over the place and didn’t seem to know what to do. They forgot my coffee and I didn’t get it until the end of the meal. We came here for the amazing looking donut milkshakes they have on Instagram and again was disappointed. The donut was stale and hard– more than 1 day old. So while whoever is in charge of doing their social media needs to be promoted the actual café and experience was a let down. Sticking to the brunch spots in south east.

This is their first review! I’m quite astonished given that this is the darker side to the people that bring you Sardi. By darker, I do not mean metaphorically, I mean literally, dark! I’ve been on the search for a breakfast board since Chez Dre abruptly concluded their provision of what was my favourite breakfast in Melbourne. So, this be what I ordered. It’s a fine deal this is, with a few separate dishes and coffee for a mere $ 17.50. The board has crunchy granola, a little milk bottle, corn fritter with smashed av, a poached egg and red pepper salsa AND the best, a warm crumpet with poached peach and a curd that may have been grapefruit. Best yet, all these items are on the main menu, you just get miniature versions. All in all it was solid. I could pick little faults like the fritter was a bit gluey and the granola too sweet for me. But the crumpet is my new best friend. You can order that on its own which is what I 100% will do next time. So use the board to establish you favourite and then go forth. Coffee is decent too. Go, it’s worth a look(take a torch).
