Fantastic live music venue and cocktail bar. The best way to describe the décor is probably part basement, part cave with the unfinished wall look. I didn’t try the food but some of our friends had pizza and said it was great(he’s Italian so automatic trust for his pizza ratings). The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, willing to stop and answer questions even when busy. Definite highlight is the cocktails. I had one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had(little pricey at $ 20 but so worth it) it was perfectly balanced. They also sell a rum punch that the bartenders put together for a specific flavour(definitely not a throw in everything punch) so good! It was fruity but had a bitter tang and full of fresh fruit. Lovely place to hang and listen to music.

Such a cosy atmosphere. Hanging out for the band to play Bluegrass Parkway(BGP) Limited food menu pizza and chips. Having said that chips and pizza really tasty. The atmosphere was wonderful and the bar staff so professional. A great location to see live music.

I have wanted to check out The Odd Fellow for some time now. I didn’t realise it’s the old Norfolk Basement. We were at The Norfolk pub and asked for a couple of cocktails and they said they didn’t serve cocktails but you could head down to The Odd Fellow basement level and buy them there and then bring them to The Norfolk — what service! We headed down and were greeted by a whole wall of spirits glowing behind the bar. It looks pretty impressive. They serve most cocktails here, as well as wine and beer. Prices are slightly more expensive than most Perth bars, with an aperol spritz costing $ 16 and an espresso martini costing $ 20. This cavernous live music venue and bar must be a firm favourite with locals. If I lived nearby I’d be there a lot!

The discovery of The Odd Fellow is a revelation. I’ve been to The Norfolk Hotel many times but never realised what I was missing out on downstairs. The entrance takes you down a narrow stairway into a cavernous-feeling basement with exposed brick walls and a small bar. The Odd Fellow consists of multiple areas which add to the cavernous feeling and a medium sized stage with plenty of standing space. I was there to watch some local bands play and I was very impressed with the sound of the room considering the strange shape and the hard walls. The bar had tap beers from Feral and Gage Roads and an extensive selection of spirits and cocktails and while the drinks weren’t cheap it wasn’t beyond what I would be happy to pay. If Fremantle wasn’t so far from me you would definitely in The Odd Fellow every weekend, that being said I will be visiting again soon!

Love the basement feel, and I completely love the lighting /diving guy. Drinks were good, we left because there was a cover charge for the band(Saturday night) — place was pretty close to empty, nice when the band wasn’t «playing». Shall return and see what it’s like at another time

Whiskey a go-go! It is for me, anyway. Down in the bowels of the Norfolk Hotel in Fremantle(on Norfolk Street) is the recently refurbished Odd Fellow. Serving an array of whiskeys, bourbons, standard spirits and beers you can have a song with your choice of beverage on gig night. I went to watch Kenny Austin launch his latest CD and got the bonus of local band Dilip ‘N the Davs afterward. One Laphroaig a piece, made the drive worthwhile. Bar set up is pretty, but queues for drinks can be lengthy. The uneven floor, with the raised central part, could also see a few broken front teeth. You have been warned.

Have you ever walked into a bar and feel like approaching the owner and saying ‘I love what you’ve done with the place’? The Odd Felow(although a basement) doesn’t feel dark and dingy at all, it feels like you want to pull up a seat and start tasting some of the amazing varieties of gin, rum, bourbon that are on display in the liquor wall. The staff are all very nice and helpful. Follow them on twitter or instagram for updates on the steady stream of live entertainment that they have.

Went there last night. Really loved the basement location, theme, and atmosphere. Drinks range was great too. Exotic and top shelf liquors and a cocktail mixologist. The gig last night wasn’t to my taste, but all the freo arts, hipster, and hobo scene were there. A great location if you want to get away from the beer swilling, back slapping, boganess.
