Esplanade Park

Recently here for VegFest 2015 (and Araluen Chilli Festival earlier in the year), Esplanade Park is the perfect venue for a day out in Fremantle. Ample parking (paid — don’t forget the coins), close to the famous cappucinno strip and surrounded by some of WA’s best eateries.
There’s a Ferris Wheel and kids jungle gym at the park. It also boasts some of the best views of the boat harbour. Highly recommend grabbing a coffee or ice-​cream from one of the local cafes, and just people watch in the park. Or better yet, jump on that Ferris Wheel and enjoy the views!

Just when I thought Fremantle couldn’t get any cooler, Esplanade Park! With great views of the bay, a skate park, kids jungle gym, swings, ferris wheel, and a breathtaking sunset it’s a perfect escape from the busied streets of Freo. Oh I forgot, a bouldering wall AND… drum roll please, FREE WIFI??? Just love love love it!

Came here for the Fremantle beer festival, set out of the festival was really good. The only downfall was that the tickets were $ 25 and I thought you would get some free tastings with it only the middy cup and tastings were $ 2 each taste. Apart from that it was are a really good day out lots of fun had with friends.

Beautiful picturesque park with views of the ocean and boats. Really great place to have a picnic with the family. However it is also great just to sit in the coffee shops near by and watch over the beautiful park.

The esplanade can be split up into almost an infinite number of sections, depending on the crowds that are commandeering it.
I suppose the «park» section spans from the sandy playground– (whoever came up with a playground in a sandpit has really outdone themselves!) right across to the grassy hills and the entire 200 meters between them.
The grass is scattered and seen better days, but for summer it’s not fairing up too badly and the shade supplied by the trees is delightful~ I am proud to say I picnicked there just last week and was lucky enough to witness some local magic. To my left, a team of people who just love life, were playing a series of activities using only 3 milk creates, 2 wooden poles and their bodies.. . (let me tell you I have underestimated how much fun can be had with such few and random items.) While to my right, a group of equally ambitious yet slightly more destructive individuals had set up their music system (plugging an iPod into two makeshift speakers that looked like a woodwork project in construction) and were hosting padded jousting matches on bikes, down the grassy hills.
The esplanade park never ceased to amaze and inspire.

Situated between the Fremantle proper and the coast, this park is probably one of most iconic places in Fremantle. Rightly so.
It features plenty of shade and benches for casual chill out sessions as well as play area for children. It is perfect for families, for couples… for anyone really. If you are based in Esplanade Hotel you have to spend at least part of your time here.
The drawback is that it is very popular and as such it can be a bit challenging to find a quiet spot. But check it out, you might find one.

Esplanade Park is a beautiful reserve land within the city of Fremantle. Boasting some large, looming Norfolk pines, spectacular views of the water and a recently upgraded children’s play area, the park’s spaciousness and location has seen it become a hub of activity during major Fremantle events. The 2011 ISAF Sailing Competition set up its World Village here during late last year, and on New Years Eve the grounds become an all-​ages area of market stalls, food vendors and live entertainment. The park’s latest edition is a giant Ferris Wheel, making it a great location for a first date with restaurants located a hop, skip and a jump away. There’s also parking nearby and its easily accessible by the Blue Cat Bus.

During uni I would often come to Fremantle’s esplanade, lie under the huge trees, take a nap… and probably miss a lecture! Or sometimes our tutors would take us down to the park on hot days to enjoy the breeze and it was legit to fall asleep under the trees during class!
It’s a really great park though, heaps of space to spread out playing games with your friends and family or chill out under a tree. It’s right off the café strip so you can bring your coffee or lunch down and enjoy the outside. There is a little play park for kids to enjoy running around on, and now there is the massive Wheel of Excellence to go up and see the views of Fremantle and Perth. It’s also right by the ocean and beach, and all the tasty seafood restaurants there. It’s the community hub of Fremantle, somewhere to go and relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the town.

There are many moments throughout my week when I turn to myself and think ‘this is why I live here’ and walking aruond Fremantle esplanade is usually one of those moments.
Its a great spot to sit down and enjoy all those treats that you get from the Fremantle markets or the pie you get from Fremantle bakehouse.
There’s plenty of people watching from teh grass and on a good day you might get some live music. There is currently a ferris wheel in the park whcih will improve your view of Fremantle considerbally.

Fremantle Esplanade is a stretch of greenery between Fremantle and the ocean. It is a popular place due to its proximity to the café strip and the train station, and its towering pine trees offers respite from the sun in summer.
Fremantle Esplanade was the home of the West Coast Blues and Roots music festival, and as an open-​air music venue, it worked very well. It comfortably held four stages and due to its proximity to public transport, it was easily accessible. The only slight downside was the occasional sound-​bleed from one stage to another, but that is difficult to avoid with open-​air venues.
Fremantle Esplanade is a great place for a picnic, or to let the kids run free on the playground.
