Yay for $ 3 taco night! Was sort of disappointed that the vegan«fish» option wasn’t on the menu as per their website, but the sweet potato option was delicious, and the bean option was pretty damn good too. Super fun staff, quick service, nice crowd. Beer was not great, but what can you expect from a $ 3 beer in a can?! Next time I’ll try the margaritas instead.

Staying at a friend’s house in Yarraville & decided to come here for a spontaneous hungover brekkie/lunch. Realized when I got here that I have actually been here once before for a friend’s birthday but I didn’t eat anything that time. So without further ado, my thoughts! PROS: — I reckon this would actually be a really good venue to see bands! — good music selection and general ambience… i like the churchy seats! — good selection of hot sauces! MUYIMPORTANTE! — I got the brekkie burrito and while it didn’t set my world on fire it was substantial in size & packed with bacony mushroomy goodness! Also impressed with the salad which included grilled corn and pumpkin CONS: — If I was an asshole I’d say the food took longer than I planned on to arrive, and wasn’t necessarily piping hot when it got here. Happy to cut them some slack on this though, looks like there’s only one guy on & there’s a pretty big table across the room — THEBIGCON — this place is FULLOFFLIES. Guys WTF. I am not precious about this shit, and initially I thought it was only a problem in the beer garden which you can’t control. Even after I moved inside though, they’re EVERYWHERE. I accidentally killed one just wiping my cheek. It’s really off putting and as soon as I wolfed down my food and beer, I left. This place looks like it would be a cool venue otherwise but I’m really not in a hurry to come back after having spent most of the time here shooing pests away.

I was here to see a band called Meat Cake. Googled for info & all the top hits mentioned the Reverence’s awesome vegan & vegetarian food choices. It took me a while to realise that that was because my search had the word«meat» in it hahaha. Regardless, the people spoke the truth! The Reverence has a gorgeous bird theme running through it at one of the best damn pub menus I have ever seen. My vegan chimichanga was to die for. And HUGE! My friend’s veg nachos were also amazing & proper with black beans & quality jalapeños. I can’t stand dodgy pub nachos. Great service, nice band room & outdoor courtyard. Oh and Meat Cake rocked.

I was only here for a quick drink whilst between venues — a mans not a camel! The venue was pumping at about 8 pm on a Saturday eve. All the tables were taken so grabbed a stool at the bar after we had ordered some drinks. Finished said drinks(in a timely fashion may I add) and had another 10 minutes till we needed to head — another round was a must. Tried to get the attention of the bar tenders(there were at least five) for some time. No response. The all made eye contact a few times but nothing. Finally managed to grab the attention of someone(I assumed it was the manager and/or owner) only to be told it was a non service are. Now that’s well and good, I get that it makes it easier for both punters and staff to have designated areas of service. But, umm, here’s an idea — MAYBE A SIGN??? Just saying. Oh the food did look good, so I will check it out again if in the area.

Situated on one of Melbourne’s busiest truck routes and intersections, this pub has a rather, dour external appliance, but like all things in life, you can’t judge a book by its cover. This pub has a super cool vibe and cheap tasty food to compliment this, factor in a pool table band room and a decent choice of beers and this could easily become my ‘local’. Have no fear however several locals appear to have indeed done that.

Ohhhh nooooo! It’s the end of an era you guys: «Footscray I’m in Love» has up and moved to Yarraville(Aqua e Vino to be precise) thus leaving me a bit bereft. I’m not that excited about The Reverence’s current musical lineup and the only thing that would draw me back is the cheapo food(and hot sauce station)! But will that be enough? Stay tuned…

Unbelievable! How could a place get it right straight out of the gate? A simple menu of vegetarian and meat pizzas, cheap Coopers on tap and free live music on Sundays. I had a flashback to the Punters Club of the late 90’s except replace cigarettes with iPhones and a clean floor. This place is fantastic. Plenty of diverse places to sit, chat and listen to music all at the same time. The audio set up in the band room isn’t overpowering making the space quite intimate — just ask the hipsters sitting on the floor. The Reverence appears to have a consistently good line-up of bands which is a bonus for us lazy Scrays who can’t be arsed crossing the river for live music. I for one, appreciate the beer garden. It will sure beat drinking in the Mall or Maddern Square this summer.
