You guys! Homewares just got a whole lot cooler! My ma collects Wedgewood plates and other nicknacks. You know those really boring blue and white plates? Well, thanks to some clever chickies I now want to collect this stuff too because Mozi’s homewares are just do damn adorable. Bright colours, quirky patterns and a hint of art Nouveau would sum up the style here. I recently purchased a number of candle holders from Mozi in the shape of adorable little apples. They look stunning in my backyard and I am now constantly being asked where I got them from. Everyone loves a bit of Kitsch! Warning: It can be pricey. But I think Mozi offers good quality stuff that you can’t find elsewhere. They make great gifts for your ma/aunty/gran!

I’m not sure if this cult Australasian homeware brand’s name is extrapolated from the word ‘mosquito’ or ‘mosey’ but I like it all the same. And its technicolour Fitzroy boutique is most definitely worth a mosey. A vividly coloured boutique stocking a range of the brand’s candles, plates, mugs, bedding, baby stuff and accessories, Mozi’s aesthetic is graphic and colourful. Very, very colourful. I particularly like Mozi’s giant knitted cushions — however at $ 150 a pop my couch is going to have to wait — and brightly coloured bath bags. And with Christmas fast approaching Mozi is a great place to have on your gift buying radar. Kind of like an Australasian Liberty — print wise — if you like bold, bright, colourful homeware and accessories, you’ll love Mozi.

When two entrepreneurial sisters decided to take over their parent’s garage and start a homeware brand, no one would have anticipated the success of MOZI. Today, the brand is sold throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the US and the UK. MOZI’s latest stand alone store in hip Brunswick Street is testament to the sisters’ foresight and ability to dream big and translate that into real products that now have a cult following.(The first MOZI store was located in Hawthorn) Step inside this dreamy oasis of print and colour and you’ll see various interpretations of childhood memories, iconic figures like their beloved pets(Peter Rabbit, Max the poodle and Pepper the blackbird) and inspiration from their trips around the world. I fell in love with MOZI years ago because of the endearing prints that characterise the brand. I am a huge fan of anything polka dotted, striped and adore animal silhouettes and bold prints of any kind, so it’s no wonder I love this little shop. Check out the excellent array of bedding, lamps, candles, doorstops, aprons, tea towels, cushions and stationery — perfect for those who love pretty attention to detail.
