OK, so no one would really know that it’s called the ‘J P Powderly Plantation’ — most would know it as «that park next to Fitzroy Pool» — but it definitely deserves its own bit of info on here because it’s a beaut spot. A long stretch of grass, shaded on all sides by trees with plenty of open space in the middle to kick a footy around, it’s a great place to head to on a sunny day or after a dip, or to sit and eat lunch if you’re working or shopping on Brunswick St. There’s also a little BBQ area with seating and a push-button barbie, as well as an enclosed children’s play area with swings and a fort with a slide. It isn’t well lit so at night it’s less appealing(like most of Melbourne’s parks).
