Had recently a 40th Birthday and even that the food was set menu you could very much tell that this place knows how to cook. Meat platters and salads dips all where very nice and full flavouring service we found to be very good. Was able to find a menu of what’s served during normal operational hours and they cover all from brekki to mains like pasta burgers

Came here for Breakfast. Friendly waiter, great coffee and reasonably priced food. Grabbed the French Toast which they have served with maple syrup, cream and bacon. SOS

First all this place is so so loud! I’m not too sure what it is, maybe what the building is made from? or people trying to talk over the music playing? either way I could barely hear my partner at all. I ordered the Penne Con Pollo, the sauce it self had a good flavour too it but it was a little oily and the pasta was under cooked. I probably wouldn’t rush back here but I would like to give it another go for breakfast some time.

Liquid is a popular spot anytime of the day or night and week, breakfast is served until 3pm every day and the menu options are extensive. Breakfast, coffees, lunch and dinner are all options for Liquid, service is nice and fast and done with a smile, the full bar is also something nice for such a small business. Always busy with lots of different people having different foods all day makes it interesting, seeing groups have scotch at 9am is always interesting as well as coffees. Next time you’re in the area and feeling like something to eat or drink pop in on the happy team at Liquid and grab something to eat.

A friend of mine from the eastern suburbs calls Adelaide’s West Terrace ‘The Wall’. ‘There’s nothing out there, mate,’ he’ll tell you, referring to the vast cultural desert between the West Park Lands and the sea. He’s wrong, of course, on so many counts it doesn’t matter. One of these counts is Liquid Espresso, a relatively new café in one of the small retail redevelopments that have sprung up on Grange Road. This establishment features the magic ingredient which usually can lift a café from the mundane to the spectacularly good. I speak of a gifted chef, in this case an Italian one. I dined here today in the company of an Italian friend, whose judgement in the matter of Continental food is spot on. We shared a chicken Caesar salad, and I have to say, I’ve rarely had better. The greens were crisp, almost still dewy, and the egg perfectly poached and complimented by fresh shavings of Parmesan cheese with slivers of bacon and lashings of anchovy. The slices of grilled chicken breast were succulent, warm and slightly toasted, and the homemade Caesar sauce drizzled over the lot was perfect — tasty and tart without overwhelming the variety of other flavours. The croutons were a little hard, though. I had started with a sausage roll and sauce. Call me unsophisticated, but a good sausage roll is a delightful start to most meals, except perhaps breakfast. Sadly, this item seems not to have been touched by the chef’s wand. The pastry was fine and flaky, but the all-important filling was a disappointment. Instead of a juicy finger of spicy pork sausage, this stuff, while juicy enough, was insipid, almost grey, and I’d say contained a lot of breadcrumbs. Even the tomato sauce was generic. So a bare pass on the sausage roll brings down the overall score. However, the legend of Italian cuisine wasn’t built on stodgy pastries, so order up on the traditional items with confidence. The prices are very fair, especially considering the quality on offer. The $ 10 pasta night looks like a real treat, ditto the burger night. Sadly, we had to go before trying the coffee, but it smelled great. The modern hard-surfaced décor makes for a bit of noise, so Liquid Espresso is possibly not the venue for a candle-lit romantic interlude. On a Monday afternoon, the place was quietly buzzing with happy customers — I’ll say no more, except that the smallish carpark was full. That’s the price of fame, but there is plenty of parking nearby.

Liquid serves a huge range of Mediterranean inspired meals for lunch or dinner. My recent visit was my first ever time there, and their $ 10 Wednesday pasta nights were recommended to me! I actually ended up eating there for lunch and found the customer service to be excellent and the food to come in generous serving sizes. What I didn’t like, however, is that it is a very noisy café, probably due to the tiled floors/hard surfaces. It was very difficult to hear what others were saying at my table! Car parking is a bit of an issue as it is one of a group of shops with limited parking spaces. If coming from the city you need to go through two sets of traffic lights to be able to U turn and enter the car park! Good food but if you are wanting to chat, make sure you pick a table off to the side — avoid the central seating area.
