Who does not want a tiny teddy biscuit with their coffee? I love the vibe and friendly staff at this funky little café. A favourite amongst the locals. Great coffee, cakes and breakfasts!!! We looooves it!!!

This place is what you would expect in Melbourne suburbs.. The décor is nice and fresh and ambience is trendy with mix match chairs. They have an outdoor area as well for some fresh air. I ordered a lamb Greek salad to go as I was running out of time. It was a tiny portion. I wanted more salad at least but I guess they tried to fit as much lettuce into the container. Service was great though. They had some great specials. I’ll come back to try those one day.

Friends of Ours is one of our favourite options when eating on Mt. Alexander Rd, and although they’re always busy, we’ve never failed to get a seat. Choosing breakfast items on a restricted diet(lactose intolerant) can be a little difficult, but Friends of Ours always have a couple menu items which come naturally dairy free. I ordered the breakfast salsa — sourdough, avocado, tomato, poached eggs and olive tapenade; all elements were perfectly balanced, and well executed, making a very satisfying breaky.

This is my favourite breakfast joint in Melbourne! staff are very friendly and the food is great. there is a mini garden out the back but the prime sports are the seating out the front especially on a sunday weekend morning. Highly recommend the«French Kiss» dish for all those sweet toothed people out there like me. Can´t recommend enough, I have eaten there well over 10 times now in the past year and never had a bad meal or experience :)

Great atmosphere inside and out on the street; with wonderful coffee and delicious all day breakfasts. One of the better cafés to have sprung up in recent years in this part of Essendon

Super sweet interior deco going on at Friends of Ours. Some real friends of ours took us here for a quick coffee fix before a road trip. There are super cute mini Polaroid photos and sweet messages on the wall. Worth a good giggle. Service was swift but it was before 7.30 on a Sunday morning of a long weekend. Serving up Toby’s Estate as the house blend. Just be careful as it is a strong flavoursome blend, which may trip some people up. A sneakily apple crumble muffin was thoroughly enjoyed by friends. Looks like a great little family friendly spot, which probably means I won’t be heading back anytime soon during those peak periods.

Cool internal re-design and friendly staff + some good coffee and food = can’t go wrong for a breaky if you’re from Essendon/Strathmore area… and the Apple Crumble Muffin is great

I’ve only been in for Coffee so far, but it was pretty good. And free on opening day! Friends of Ours replaced the struggling Menka’s Café, which closed about a month ago. After a quick refit and soem small internal alterations, the establishment works much better than its predecessor. This place should give Max’s and Andy’s Place, two proximate competitors, a good run for their patrons. Friendly staff and good service.
