I love this place! Went for takeaway sandwiches and had a hard time deciding which one because it all sounded so good. I got the chicken salad sandwich on turkish bread for $ 11 — a steal in Double Bay. So worth it, great portions. Chicken salad sandwich came with pesto mayo that was done heavenly and not too greasy feeling. The salads on display were gorgeous and can make you feel like your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Lots of options for healthy eating here at very reasonable prices. Not the coolest spot to eat in but walk down a couple of blocks to Steyne Park or Double Bay Wharf and it’s the perfect setting for such a yummy, nutritious meal. Takeaway prices are about $ 1.50 — $ 1 cheaper than dining in.

The name of this shop, whilst descriptive, undersells itself by implying that charcuterie is all that they have to offer here. The counter boasts a delicious range of top quality meats, which can be hand-cut to order — from one slice to the whole leg. The choice is fabulous: honey roast hams, peppered salamis, chorizo and pates. Aside from the glorious array of meats, Michael’s Charcuteries displays gorgeous pots of olives, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and all other manner of products perfect for a mezze platter. This café also makes a wonderful destination for a vibrant and healthy lunch — bowls line the counter, brimming with sweet potato, spinach and feta salad, pasta concoctions and multiple leafy dishes. I would recommend getting here early to ensure that the best has not already been gobbled and to make sure you can grab a table near the window — essential for the people-watching that Double Bay caters so well for.
