Allegro Bar

Allegro bar & café. Allegro means cheerful in Italian and this café in Double Bay lives up to its name.
I came here for breakfast on Saturday morning with three girlfriends. Two of us had poached eggs with avocado, one friend had hard poached eggs with mushrooms and one friend had eggs easy done with bacon. Now I personally would never order my eggs easy done with a side of bacon but that’s me. My girlfriend anticipated one maybe two strips of bacon but her breakfast arrived with a PILE of bacon. Literally looked like the cook had cooked up the whole packet and placed it on her plate. For those reading this thinking «oh yeah, I love generous serves of bacon» I hope they are this generous with you too!
All the wait staff were dressed in a uniform of sorts so it was easy to spot them out. Although they were so attentive we never had to go looking for them which was nice. Our water glasses were filled up continuously and our coffees arrived with a biscuit on the side. Nice touch. One of the girls drinks almond milk with her coffee and me soy. Both orders were easily accommodated with no fuss (they have bonsoy)!
The food was good, service was good and our overall breakfast experience was good. I would cheerfully visit again. Four stars!
