The Mill & Bakery At Central Pier

I was in desperate need of a cake near Docklands and was coming up empty with Google searches until i found this place on Unilocal.Since i was so short on time i figured i couldn’t be too picky. I went to their website and sent an enquiry without even seeing a picture of their cakes. I received a prompt reply and told them my preferences (cake size, flavour, etc.) and hoped for the best. They were able to do it with just 24 hours notice. When I went to pick it up, i was impressed with the selection of pretty desserts on display but when they brought out the cake i was even more impressed. It was absolutely beautiful. The icing on the cake (pun intended) was that it was equally delicious. Definitely a hidden gem here. I’ll be returning for all my cake needs.

Calling out all French expats and Francophiles in Melbourne, your search for a decent baguette in Australia is over! Get yourself down to the Mill & Bakery in Docklands as they are selling very tasty and authentic baguettes. Unfortunately though, you will not find them being sold at French prices ($ 4.50ea), but the quality cannot be faulted. I’ve now had three Frenchies, who are very fussy and critical about bread, give them the big thumbs up! Although, they always add that they are still not quite as good as their local boulangerie back in France! But that is always to be expected with a chauvinistic Frenchie.
The pain au chocolat, croissants and raisin bread are also very nice. They also make a decent coffee and sell a good selection of sandwiches. Bön appetit!
