Sushi rolls are great! Tried the salmon & prawn and both were super fresh. Roll size a bit smaller than some other places in the city but inexpensive and you gotta credit a place that does good pickled ginger & fresh wasabi(none of that packet stuff). Huge glass frontage, high ceiling & airy mezzanine means tons of natural light if you stop to eat in. And one thing that I didn’t notice straight away. once you’ve finished chowing your lunch, if you close your eyes to the modern décor and allow it, the rolling waves of piano melodies here might just pick you up and carry you gently back to your favourite old-school Japanese ryokan — just for a moment. Then back to work.

Fresh, fast, cheap Japanese. This place has replaced my old Jap haunt for my lunch breaks as the food just tastes a lot fresher & makes me feel like I am being at least slightly healthy, that is of course until I order the deep fried salt & pepper chicken wings. They have a ready cooked section where you pick rice or noodles & whatever meat you want, there is a order off the menu with the likes of bento boxes & noodles dishes & also the fresh sushi & rice paper rolls section. I have never really spent more than $ 11 here and I am full to the brim by the time I am done. One of my fave parts is they have really funky different style sushi rolls that you don’t always find in your run of the mill sushi stores.
