Surrounded by the hustle and bustle of 6,000 people going to work in the morning it is easy to get lost in the mentality of grabbing a take away coffee as fast as you can and racing back to your desk to make sure that you don’t miss that all important email that definitely couldn’t wait the 20 minutes it takes to sit down to caffeinate. One morning I was brave, listening to the click clack of the thousand odd stilettos bustling through the lobby behind me I raced up to grab my morning coffee(It’s not worth talking to me before one…) but this time it was different. As I went to say my mundane«take away please», my tongue slipped. All of a sudden a table number was produced and they were toasting me a bagel and my fate was sealed! As I walked towards my table, outside overlooking the river, I realised I was breathing easy, I was relaxed. The atmosphere out on the balcony was relatively calm(given that you’re at the base of a major bank’s world headquarters) and I was incredibly surprised at the speed of which my bagel and latte come out, considering it was peak coffee hour. Since then I have stopped back here at least once a week in the morning to take a moment out of my day and relax out on the balcony! If you’re looking for a place to unwind before or during the mad rush of a banker’s working day I strongly suggest you stop in here!

Super busy at lunchtime, but these guys move fast and service is always with a big smile. Will have to try more of the food on sale, everything looks really delicious and fresh and as my tip says, really well priced considering its location. Portions are generous too. Lots to choose from, cold food to hot food. There’s seating inside ad outside alfresco or just grab and go to eat on the grass or down the waterfront.

One of several cafes inside ANZ centre. Good coffee and quick, healthy food.
