I have attempted to have a look for the fresh market garden behind this establishment, but have yet to find one. Why you ask? Due to the freshness of ingredients I say! This restaurant is fairly contemporary in it’s design. The staff are friendly and you can quite often get a big hello from the guys in the kitchen when you walk in. I am very much a creature of habit. I have only known about this place for the past three months, however we would be close to the double digits in the amount of times we have eaten here. I religiously have grilled chicken vermicelli noodles, where the wife tends to always go for the lemongrass beef vermicelli noodles. When it comes to the starters, that is when we tend to mix it up a bit. There is not a bad thing I can say about this place. Extremely delicious and the quality has not once varied in the times that we have visited.

Small little place with well presented, fresh food. Nice selection of food… next time I want to try the soft tacos or phõ

This is what Vietnamese food is about — good quality fresh ingredients simply and expertly presented. It’s all over Vietnam, but much harder to find in Melbourne, where the average is frustratingly low for VN food. A pork belly dish with vermicelli noodles was delicious, and my companion’s beef dish was just as good. I had previously been here for lunch, at a table outside, and been impressed. Ambience is simple but nice, and the service on a fairly busy night was friendly and efficient. Value good for the quality. In an area which mainly services daytime office hours, it’s good to find somewhere good open at nights and on Saturday. I’ve eaten here several times now, and everything has been remarkably consistent in quality. One of the best things about Banoi is that they frequently go beyond the Vietnamese basics, with some creative and really successful dishes.

Phở and banoi tacos are awesome! Oh and the cumquat lemonade. Oh and the Vietnamese iced coffee.

What a great addition to docklands and wish I had made the effort to get to Banoi sooner. For the office folk in Docklands that have little time for lunch this place is for you. If you find yourself in the area and want a some good food this is also for you. Banoi has a great concept of a tick the box order sheet, express takeaway section or eat inside or outside. The staff are very quick and friendly with a great atmosphere. Plenty of great Vietnamese classics to choose from and from what i sampled very tasty too. If you’re in the area give it a try.

Very yum modern Vietnamese… Great vibe, friendly staff and cool décor. The rice paper rolls are the best in town — very fresh and the dipping sauces are simply divine.

Banoi is a hip Vietnamese joint that opened up in the past year and is probably the only Docklands go-to place for me on a weeknight. They do the typical fresh rolls and phở but my favourite dish has got to be the not-so-typical vietnamese crispy chicken ribs. SO crispy and SO juicy! Couldn’t stop thinking about how yummy it was.

Businesses like this are living proof that cool businesses with the right Melbournian vibe thrive in the Docklands area. This new Vietnamese spot is pumping during the lunch rush — every table under reservation and unprepared diners filling the tables outside and queuing at the window for rice paper rolls. I snuck in just before 12pm to grab a spot at the bar facing their open kitchen. The staff are courteous and quick to make sure you’re being served, without feeling too rushed. There’s a good selection of rice paper rolls, bánh mì, phở and bún(vermicelli noodle salads). Wanting something small, I opted for a rice paper roll(serves of two @ $ 7.50) and a little BBQ pork steamed bun, with a large Vietnamese iced coffee. The rice paper rolls were well sized, tasty, had enough filling and were served with a warm chilli dipping sauce. Nice and flavourful, with sriarcha available if you want to knock up the heat. The BBQ pork bun wasn’t huge but really fluffy and tasty, definitely not stodgey or so big that you’d be too full for anything else. The Vietnamese coffee is made with Trung Nguyen coffee, so it’s the same dark, strong coffee you’ll get throughout Vietnam, mixed with sweet condensed milk. They have different styles for different regions on offer. I’ve definitely had better locally but it does taste very much like what you get when travelling. A welcome addition to the neighbourhood — I’d definitely go back for more and book if I wasn’t dining alone.

Great food, the spring rolls are the best I have had. Always good service and a pretty reasonable price considering location
