On Shore Cafe Brasserie

Had dinner here tonight with friends, the service was great, the menu selection was top notch and the food itself was amazing, we skipped the entrée and went straight to the mains, I ordered the fisherman’s catch and it was all kinds yummy. It had, grilled salmon, oysters, prawns, squid, calamari, smoked salmon and much more. If you are in Dee why this is a must visit restaurant.

If you haven’t eaten On Shore’s eggs benedict, you haven’t lived. No, seriously. It is so good — Eggs Benedict at this favourite restaurant of mine was my last meal in Australia before I went away for 8 months, and remains my fondest memory of my home land.
Aside from the delicious aforementioned food, other things on the menu are also great — no matter what I choose, I always end up with food envy because everything is so damn tasty!
The cute and quirky backpacker staff make for good eye candy, and a good flirt if you’re so inclined. They are also quick, smily and chatty. The décor in On Shore pays appropriate homage to the beachside environment, with sun, sand and surf decorating the exposed brick walls.
It’s a great dining choice, and I can’t recommend the eggs benedict highly enough!

16, The Strand use to have one of the first restaurants at the Strand which was a little French restaurant called Le Bastion, nestled in between all the fish and chip shops. For some time now it has been On Shore Brassiere and I am told by the manager it has been Onshore for over 20 years.
This is the first time we have eaten here and my husband decides he would like to smash a D.I.Y omelette to prepare him for the rugby finals that are screening later on tonight. Hes very happy with his choice and says the flavours are not definite but its satifying. I’m trying to decide between a light breakfast or hot breakfast and as I watched the fitness groups working out across at the road and watch all the runners pass by. I decide for just wholemeal toast and one of those pots of chinese tea. Then I remember I have been here once before with girlfriends on a late night dessert mission and wonder if it’s too early to have a Spumone which is a coffee/​hazelnut chocolate gelato as I ask the waitress I forget about all the fitness going around me and decide its 11am and its hot so gelato is the only option.
On Shore is not winning any awards for its food however it meets expectations and it’s a pleasant roomy café so nice to lounge back and enjoy the views and watching the world go by.
