As other reviewers have stated, ideal place to have a meal before going to the movies in the adjoining cinemas. Décor was basic BUT the place was clean. GREATSTART Welcomed in, seated quickly. Complimentary prawn crackers on the table seconds after being seated. Waitress and host attentive and professional. Now to the food, Szechuan Beef, Small Fried Rice and Honey Chicken. The menu is westernised but fresh and served very quickly. The vegetables in the Beef were spot on, in more of a gravy than a sauce. Fried Rice was fresh and flavoursome with good colour, Chicken a little dry but tasty, the honey not overbearing. Meal not overpowered with Bi Carb. Serve size good, only 2 of us dining but 3 could have enjoyed the meal. Non pretentious and great value quality cheap eats for the price. I think there is no need to book, but you can never be sure. The staff are a big factor in dining out and I must commend the staff for being so welcoming and efficient. Will definitely visit again before the movies. Thumbs Up

The food an service have improved since my last visit to Currumbine Chinese restaurant. Last night wa had the Ginger Shallot Beef and Chili Chicken. The chicken was very nice and the beef was excellent. In the past the service was a little slow with dishes arriving at odd times. Like the rice coming out 10 minutes after receiving the main courses. I am happy to say that the food is served in a more timely manner now.

Who would have thought that a chinese restaurant tucked away in a surburbian shopping centre is well anything other than average. They have gone for the picture menus plastered on their windows, which is big in touristy parts of Hong Kong. The décor is bland with seemingly random pictures on the wall(maybe there is a theme I haven’t figured out yet?) and lots of flourescent lighting. Nobody looks good in flourescents. Not even the Victoria Secret Angels. The staff here are quite nice. The food unispiring, but not awful. The prices cheap. This is the kind of place you go to just before a movie next door, or because its the closed place to your home and you do not have to get dressed up.

Currambine Chinese Restaurant is the place to come for a meal before heading to the movies next door. You don’t really have to book in a reservation they can always seat you as it’s never overly busy, which is great because that means the service is fast. I’ve been here many times before and it’s consistently good. The food tastes delicious and you are served huge portions. The prices are low which is always a bonus. The service is friendly and efficient, they have never caused me to miss a movie yet! While it’s nothing flashy or fancy, it’s rival next door Oscars, which is a beautiful restaurant with amazing food also, they have caused me to miss a movie, therefore the Chinese wins and I’ll come back here everytime over Oscars due to reliability, consistency and quality!

This is the where to go before a movie. If you like a Chinese food at a low cost then this is where to go. Me and my friends go quite often, even if we aren’t going to the movies. The staff working there are really nice, the food is even better. The inside of the restaurant looks like your average tacky Chinese restaurant. Poor interior design. Strange pictures on the wall(one of the sydney harbour bridge) and big circular tables Our dish of choice is BBQ pork with Chinese vegetables and this amazing sauce. It feeds three of us easily, with fried rice too.

Currambine Chinese Restaurant is, as its name suggests, located in Currambine. It’s not a flashy place by any means, with heavy white curtains covering the outside windows and garish photos of dishes plastered on the outside. On the inside, Currambine Chinese Restaurant is a restaurant powered by fluorescent lighting and round tables. The food is largely fried food, such as fried rice and stir-fry noodles. The menu is basically ‘Chinese food for Westerners’, but considering its clientele, who usually are types who are dropping in for a quick meal before watching a movie at the cinema complex next door, it is understandable. The food is good, although there is an excessive use of bi-carb soda on the meat. While using bi-carb soda to tenderise meat is a common practice in Chinese restaurants, using it to where the meat lose its texture is another story. Currambine Chinese Restaurant is a decent option if you are looking for a quick meal in Currambine. Just don’t expect to be served with authentic Chinese food.
