Had a chicken schnitzel and very liked it. Missus had rump steak and was good. Will come back again. Like any other bar need to order first and sit. They have both indoor and outdoor area which is good.

Short and simple Nice looking place inside good to chill out with friends after movie or shopping Had the green & Gold parmigiana… My Gosh guys for 21 dollars it’s well worth it its delicious! It’s not a resturant so don’t have high hopes of best service or best high class food but it’s good to go for lunch or dinner and chill out and eat There quick at drinks and food aswell.

Rock hard poached eggs. Not even once. I felt bad this place only had 1.5 stars but then I ordered poached eggs that came out rock hard. Sorry guys but you bought this on yourself!

The new décor is pretty swish but it doesn’t change the fact that this is not the most awesome dining experience. The seats in the new booths are all grubby and totally unappealing to sit on. I am not a fan of lining up and ordering food and being given a buzzer to collect my meal, especially when the prices are pretty much the same as some restaurants nearby where you get full table service. But, it’s The Beach House and this is how their processes are, so that’s cool, I just like some good olé fashioned service when I decide to dine out. I ordered the Monday night rump special, it was ok, food was fresh and reasonably tasty but not a mind-blowing foodie experience, but it filled me up, which is what I needed at the time. When it comes to this strip of eating options at Chermside Shopping Centre, there are more preferable options.

Beach House is a pretty standard generic chain tavern with locations all about Southern Queensland. I’ve been to this one at Chermside quite a few times and always felt disappointed. The first annoyance was when I bough a jug of cider for my friends as it was my round and some of them didn’t drink beer. The jug was not cheap, which I expected, but the bar man filled the jug up with over 50% ice. I’d never seen any bar do that before, and as it came from the same cider tap that delivered chilled cider for pints and schooners it looked just like a nasty way to save a few dollars. The second annoyance was when I bought a Coopers in a bottle from the bar. The bar man didn’t roll it before he opened it. When I told him that a coopers is meant to be rolled before opening he claimed he had never heard such a thing. Ok, well if you work behind a bar you need to know these thing. The third and the worst annoyance was another time when I went to the bar to buy a jug of beer. As the bar man was filling the jug the keg ran out half way through the filling of the jug. The bar man then went to the back to find another keg of that beer but informed me that they were all out of that type. He then helpfully suggested I just let him mix the second half of the jug with a completely different beer, and assured me that«they tasted great mixed together.» He was clearly just trying to save a few bucks for the bar by not filling another full jug and was trying to take me for a fool. I refused but was amazed that any bar man would try and cheat their paying customers like that. I’m not sure if things like that a common but it’s a terrible way to treat your customers. It might save a few dollars in the short run but treating customers like fools like that is a good way to make sure they won’t come back. The food is ranges from good to rather plain. The burgers were especially nice but the chicken parmigiana was quite average and overpriced for the $ 20.90 it cost. Other meals are standard pub grub and generally it’s overpriced for the sub par quality. Unless you have a particular reason to go there its best to avoid. There are better pubs around. Pubs that don’t fill your cider with ice or try and give you half and half mixed beer. Avoid.

I came here with a friend for dinner before we saw a movie on a Tuesday night. I’m not sure if it’s because the venue seems to be undergoing some renovations or because it was a week night but we were two of about 10 people inside. We ordered and got our drinks brought to us straight away(drinks were very well made). I ordered a petite eye fillet cooked medium and butterflied with chips and steamed vegies and my friend got the carbonara with chicken. The food took about 20 minutes to come out which I didn’t think was excessive, but I thought it would be quicker given how quiet it was. My petite eye-fillet was tiny, half gristle and over-cooked(a lot closer to well done than medium), and the steamed vegetables were quite obviously steamed from a packet and tasted like nothing. My chips and sauce were fine, my friend’s carbonara was absolutely loaded with onion and she could barely eat half of it since she spent so long trying to pick around the piles of onion. I expected better and am glad I didn’t pay more.
