Candle corridor? Talk about a classy entrance! I felt like I was walking into an exclusive spa or something. It was all class. After passing by the entrance way so many times on my way to other restaurants at the Crown complex, I thought it was finally time to give it a go. I had lunch with a friend on a Monday afternoon. On walking in, there was nobody at the host table to greet us so we sort of stood awkwardly and looked around. After a few minutes, someone came to greet us which was a relief because let’s face it, nobody likes awkward moments. We were prompted seated and menus brought to us. Service was great and the waitress was super friendly, she was from France and had only been working at Rockpool for a week but her professionalism said otherwise. Our entrée of squid and pork belly was nothing short of amazing, however my mains of prawn and crab with handmade noodles was a little disappointing. it was clumpy and stuck together needing me to separate the noodles with the aid of a knife. But I’m not holding that as a marker for my review, as everything else was incredible. It was a working lunch, so we ordered mocktails, and I kid you not– they were the most amazing mocktails I had ever tasted. Overall a great dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back.

My partner suprised me with this dinner for christmas! I was beyond excited, ive heard great reviews and know it to be a very prestigious place. Walking in was just incredible! That beautiful walk way is lit up and stunning. The dim lit restaurant décor was wonderful, it set the mood so well. I felt a little over dressed, i had understood it to be a place you dress up for, a nice dress or pants and nice shirt is more than okay. The steak was wonderful however have had equally amazing steaks elsewhere for a cheaper price. I can’t fault the duck it was worth every penny. The staff were lovely but the service was very average! It took us 15 minutes to get someones attention to ask for some more sauce, by the time we had their attention we had finished and just asked for the bill. If the service was better i would have given 5 stars but i walked away feeling a little unimpressed. Glad i had the opportunity to go, however probably will not attend again.

I was reluctant to go given the hype for a place like this in Perth. On no count did it fail to impress. Best of all was the staff. Our waitress was lovely and ever so helpful. She was stuck with two people who didn’t know where to start on the menu… and the menu is extensive! She talked us through it and managed a perfect dinner and didn’t encourage us to over order. The sommelier is a gold mine of information and I could have listen to him talk about the family that grows the grapes for hours. Special occasion dining at its best, wouldn’t make it my regular dinner destination but never the less phenomenal dining.

Recently went for a casual lunch with family members. Wagyu burger was amazing. Cooked perfectly — ordered medium. My brother ordered a wagyu steak which was cooked beautifully. Very flavourful. We also ordered the spanner crab, roast tomato and spicy prawn oil semolina noodles and the handcut chips as a side. I’m not a fan of large handcut chips but I found these to be extremely tasty. Semolina noodles had a nice little kick to them but I would have preferred a tad more prawn oil in our dish. Service has always been attentive and pleasant each time I’ve visited. Will definitely be returning.

We just went for a burger on the bar side and it was great as always. I had the Mindaroo cheeseburger and I prefer it to the wagyu one. The beef is very tasty and it was perfectly cooked — I had medium rare, but you can get well done if that is your thing. The chips are giant sized and one serve could definitely feed 4 people easily. I always ask for aioli on the side as theirs is homemade and delicious. I had a Corpse Reviver cocktail and it was great and not sweet(which I love). Best burgers in Perth for sure and mine was $ 18 which isn’t crazy.

Can’t really fault this place I will be returning. The atmosphere is as good as I have experienced in Perth. Service was faultless and the meal was outstanding. The only thing that would improve this for me would be a wider selection of beers.

How much do j enjoy Rockpool? I choose it for my last three birthdays — that’s how much!!! This year we chose to go for lunch since Sunday day night could threaten Work Monday… I am a huge(lover of) ribeye steak, severed medium rare, with no sauces on top; which is good because that is the default here; however everything else is very tempting I have had the pie twice(note typically a wait to get this), and a couple of the fish or seafood dishes and everything has been cooked to perfection. The sides may look expensive, but they are extremely generous either bring a crowd or your appetite if you or more than a couple!!! Importantly if you have a sweet tooth make sure you save space as every dessert is a treat; even the petit fours include fantastic items I highly recommend the dark chocolate cupcake with creamy butter icing(which if it’s a specially occasion you may get on the house).

I had fairly high hopes for Rockpool, as most people would I imagine. My anticipation only grew walking through the entry, it’s an absolutely gorgeous venue and definitely one for a special occasion. I wasn’t going to go past the steak, and it was very tasty, but I’ll be honest to say I’m no steak connoisseur. I feel once you go beyond a great steak that’s say $ 50-$ 60+ I generally can’t tell much of a difference as the price increases. Whilst the presentation and taste of all our dishes were of a very high standard, none of them amazed us sadly — not that any were bad, but perhaps our expectations were too high that it would be on par with other ‘three hat’ restaurants we’ve been to where we’ve been truly impressed and felt treated to something spectacular.

The staff is just amazing. But the food was a bit disappointing… When I order Wagyu I expect it to be nothing less than perfect, specially on a renowned restaurant, which is the case. Wine list is gorgeous though and everything else was good.

I can’t say enough about our anniversary dinner here! Ambience, lighting, food, menu… it was all marvellous. A special mention must be made about our sommelier and waitress — they were both knowledgeable, helpful and thoughtful. The service helped to raise the experience from fine dining to a really wonderful evening. The menu is extensive and, at times, confusing, but if you ask for help it will be promptly and helpfully given. We started with a range of oysters from different locations in a fresh vinaigrette side sauce and then I had the seafood stew in spicy saffron and mussel broth. It was exceptional — an absolute game-changer for me, in terms of raising my expectations for future seafood dining! We will be back again for our next special occasion.

Not happy. Service was terrible. Menu was bizarre and trying too hard. Prices for steaks!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I have no idea how they justified it. Won’t be returning… EVER!

It was my fave steak restaurant. Until the Wagyu beef keeps getting burnt. 3 separate times on different occasions! Shame for something that costed over 100 At least the mushrooms side os always consistently good. The service is friendly & efficient.

So when you walk down the entrance, it’s as though you have entered a whole new world which for me was perfection right there. Your taken through wooden double doors on a journey down a candle lit entrance which is a perfect balance between romantic and professional so you could be there for any occasion and it would be suitable. The staff are incredible, all very softly spoken and a very concerned about making sure you have a great night which is exactly what you would exepct from a restaurant like this. Our starters came to the table and we were all equally impressed with the serving sizes, not to mention the taste. As always I ordered the prawns, they were grilled and they were just so gorgeous to eat! I then ordered the Red Emperor, this literally melted in my mouth! The sides were generous and all very tasty. I honestly can not fault the food. I had one alcoholic beverage because i was driving, a vodka, lime and soda — there was no denying that there was vodka in that baby! I had the Passionfruit mousse for dessert with coconut sorbet, now not being a huge fan of coconut flavoured sweets, again i was blown away by the subtlety in the flavour which was very pleasant to eat indeed! I also got to try my husbands dessert — chocolate moussee… again very tasty! World class restaurant and i look forward to going back! This is certainly a place that I will now call a favourite of mine!

I love Rockpool! Amazing service and the meals are divine! We come here for our wedding anniversaries every year because there’s nothing to fault. Bookings must be made a few weeks in advance especially if you wish to dine on a weekend. Very extensive wine/drinks menu. Service is quick and professional. If you can’t get a booking you. An have a few drinks and light meals at the bar which is a great spot to watch all the action of the bar and the kitchen!

Ate here on Christmas Eve with family. Had the ceviche as starter and Waygu bolognese for entrée. Both were good, but the bolognese sauce was a bit tart. On the side, I had the grilled creamed corn, which really had a muddled flavor. My companions had the seared king prawns with tortellini and a grilled fillet steak. I didn’t sample anybody else’s food this time. Service was exemplary and prompt. The bill was very pricey, but you have to expect that from a steak house in a premier setting.

I went to Rockpool Perth(by Neil Perry) for my birthday and I had high expectations and sadly they were not met. I must admit I’m not a steak eater so that might have been my downfall. The entrée I had was lovely, a bit large for an entrée but adequate for the price charged. Delicious. The bread served to accompany entrees was inconsistent. The first serving was so hard the crust could of cracked a toothed bit the second was much better and softer. Timing of food was a good and the ambience and atmosphere of the setting was nice. Main meal. I ordered the lamb. My chops came out medium rare as ordered however the cutlets came out quote rare. It wasn’t to my liking. I attempted to eat the chips but the meat appeared substandard and it not being cooled properly. My fiancé had the pink snapper which was very well cooked. As my main was only meat and no sides, I ordered the Mac n’ Cheese. The pasta was not properly cooked and was tough and chewy. I couldn’t eat it. My fiancé had the hand cut fat chips which were nice. I had a nice Mocktail, not being a big drinker I wouldn’t have minded a glass of wine however the wine list only had per bottle prices. I’m not prepared to purchase a bottle of wine so I can have 1 glass. Overall, it’s nothing to write home about but it might be different for steak eaters.

We were able to get in at 6 pm for early dinner on Sunday. Service was quiet & flawless. The bread was crusty and light. The fish crado was covered with chili oil for $ 32. Nice spicy touch. Octopus salad was delightful and tender. The steaks were aged for more then 30 days. They were all above $ 50. There was a wagyu spaghetti bolognese for $ 30. It was dainty and light. That is an aristocratic meat touch to an old favorite. The tbone was seared and juicy. The rib eye was thick and juicy. The sides were small. Staff were polite & helpful. Lighting was soft and guest were advised about house rules. Nice evening out.

I came here for my birthday and obviously my expectations were high. I love walking in and seeing the steak going through its dry ageing process through the windows. It lets you know they take their steak seriously. So I ordered myself a whiskey and they poured it neat and brought my a glass of ice cubes which I love. With fine whiskey I like to decide how much ice the drink needs. The entrée was good, not spectacular. I’m probably being extra harsh because it is an expensive restaurant so I expect top notch in every area. The main? I ordered that super expensive steak that just seems like a ridiculous amount to pay for a piece of meat. $ 120 for 200g, it’s excessive but it was my choice. I wanted the experience and it was my birthday after all. I should be clear that when you buy that steak, NOTHING comes with it. I’m not complaining, I knew what I was getting into. So obviously it was amazing and cooked perfectly. Truly melt in your mouth steak and the knife just glides through the meat. It’s quite special really. However, unless I win that Powerball I probably won’t get that steak again. It is a lot of money and the experience was fun but I don’t think I could justify $ 120 on a steak a second time. But, if you’ve got the money, give it a go. The service was sublime. Couldn’t fault it. The only reason this didn’t get 5 stars is the entrée which wasn’t in the same league as the rest.

I wish I could give this a better rating! I really really do!(Please note this review is a couple months overdue!) Celebrating my birthday IIt started off so well with the grand entrance and seeing the kitchen from my table with what looked like 30 chefs all busy preparing meals. The atmosphere was perfect, a place dedicated to serve great food and there was a lot of passion in doing so! The entrees we received were amazing! Ceviche, assorted mushrooms, soup of the day, potatoes– all cooked in such clever ways that I was hit with bursts of great tasting food straight away! I couldn’t wait to see what mains were up for offer. Most of us opted for the steak– and I hate to say it but I have had better! So disappointed to see mine was overcooked and such underwhelming presentation! The side salads that we ordered were very simple, hard to mess them up really! Cauliflower and cheese, mac and cheese, potato purée. Dessert was okay, nothing all too memorable. I left feeling a bit dissappointed! While the staff were lovely at the beginning, their attention dwindled as the night went on and it seemed they got lazy. At the beginning of the drinks menu were general rules of ettiquette for the restaurant– I really wish that somebody told the table across from us this! There was cackling, spilt drinks, loud laughter and just terrible jokes being made at people’e expense. Overall, not the experience I was anticipating, but who knows maybe next time when I come it will be much different. I plan on visiting the Melbourne one and seeing if there is much of the same or differnet, please be different!
