Meh. That pretty much sums it up. Normally I like to try a place a couple of times before writing a review, but I’m 99% sure that I won’t be returning. Why 2 stars then and not 1? Well. I can’t rule out popping in for coffee and a cake or even a Mars bar milkshake. But coming for breakfast/brunch. Never again. Service, while being pleasant enough. Was slow. Very slow. The sign said table service so I sat down, perused the all day breakfast menu and waited. And waited, and waited. Finally following everyone else and getting up and ordering at the counter. When I finally got my coffee, long black with milk on the side, it was lukewarm and so full I couldn’t fit any of the milk in. Finally I got my food. Eggs were slimy, mushrooms had a weird aftertaste and the sausage had been deep fried. The only thing I enjoyed was the bacon and I’m surprised by that seeing as everything else was pretty much in edible. But it takes a lot to not like bacon. Next time I’m going to Jamaica Blue across the way.

The only good thing about it is the location. It is dirty, old and tired looking. The coffee tastes like dirt and is overpriced. Do not eat the food it is shocking, scones that look and taste like a sponge. Better to starve a bit than go here. Needs new staff, major refurbishment and a better attitude from staff and management. Smokers can sit outside, this may be part of its appeal, otherwise it is disgusting.

One to avoid at all costs. After only terrible experiences here over the years I’ve officially learnt my lesson and will never be returning no matter what. I have never even dreamt of being served such awful, unacceptable food and I’m not a fussy eater. The ‘chefs’ clearly take absolutely zero pride in their work and I’m still in shock at what was served to me. I ordered a veggie supreme 9″ pizza which was quite pricey at $ 13.50 for something small at a café. It was soggy, shockingly presented and uncooked. Literally uncooked, the mushrooms were still completely raw and the uncooked toppings had clearly just be thrown on completely unevenly and even the way the vegetables had been chopped could have been done better by a 6 year old. They didn’t even use tomato paste instead they had just thrown on a can of cold, cheap canned tomatoes. They didn’t bother putting the cheese on. I reluctantly ate a disgusting slice because I’m pregnant and was starving. It was so bad, basically liquid it was that soggy. Even though I was really hungry I couldn’t carry on eating it. I complained and the waitress said sorry but I was not offered a refund or anything. I will never come back. Worst food I have ever experienced in my life.

Can you give a place no stars? Seriously this place has nothing going for it. We called in to collonnades on way down to the beach and the grand kids were clamouring for food so we spotted this BB’s on the way out and thought we could get something to tide us over until dinner. We ordered nuggets and chips for the kids, a steak sandwich, a doorstop and a chicken wrap, three coffees and a bottle of water. First two coffees came out, we had to ask for the third which came out 10 mins later. The kids chips were horrible, hard inside and out, who knows what they had done with them. SIL steak sandwich on skinny bread which fell apart as he was eating it accompanied by the same disgusting chips. The chicken wrap was just chopped chicken with a tandoori-ish sauce and two slices of cucumber, with some lettuce and tomato on the side. The third adult meal failed to materialise so again we inquired and it came out 15 mins later! By this time I told the waitress that this was not good and she told the manager who said they would take 10 percent off the bill, big deal. When I paid it ended up costing over $ 55 even with the token 10 percent off. I did tell them we wouldn’t be back and that they desperately needed to lift their game. Oh, and they need to clean all the used chewing gum from under the tables too…

The staff are pleasant and friendly and I always love booths as an option. Outside seating is offered for smokers even though this is no longer allowed in an area where food is consumed but nobody here seems to care and ashtrays and salt and pepper sit side by side. The meals are overpriced and very standard even a sandwich is 10.95.
