Hmmm. I’ve tried this coffee club many times in the past and have frequently been disappointed. Went back today with assurances that with the new manager on duty it had improved greatly from my previous encounters, and it has in fact… but not to a level that I’d like to go back and try it again. My Cappuccino was average and lacking in flavour, as was the cinnamon french toast that I tried. The toast was chewy with barely a taste of cinnamon, most of the flavour from the strawberries and maple syrup that were extras. We were here with my nanna who is currently in a wheelchair, and the coffee club is actually a good place in this kind of circumstance as there is enough room surrounding to park wheelchairs or prams, which is not the case for some of the other coffee shops located in the centre so there is a positive!

My number one choice for food and/or coffee in colonnades. The food and coffee are always fantastic, the service is great and it’s child friendly. I just had a long black which was perfect and not at all bitter like it can be at other cafés. I had this with a ciabatta roll in a combo deal which was great value — around $ 10 I think. Tastiest ciabatta roll ever, pastrami and coleslaw is an excellent combo and was the perfect size. Even though it’s right in the middle of the shopping centre with people walking by all the time it still manages to have a relaxing feel about it. Plenty of seating including lots of comfortable couches. The staff are very friendly and never appear bored or negative. My mum has very specific dietary requirements so she always has to ask for the food to be adjusted. Not once have the staff had a problem with that and some of them have even got to know what she can and can’t eat before she even asks. There’s a small play area to keep kids entertained and they also serve baby cinos and a good kids menu. Unlike some cafés the kids menu is much more appealing and isn’t too unhealthy.
