Went along for the three course Mother’s Day menu with my family. Pleasantly surprised with the quality and variety of food. Each course had 2 – 3 different options and basically catered to each person at the table. Mums and dads got a free drink each(I scored one anyway) and breads and oils were served while waiting for courses. First course was an option between traditional French onion soup(which I had), coming with crispy bread and cheese toasty inside. Other option was a smoke salmon carpaccio or a goats cheese and pear salad — we were all very surprised by how large these servings were for an entrée. Main course was a choice between chicken and pancetta, beef or salmon. I had the salmon which came with a nice potato base, asparagus and a great little red capsicum side sauce. Dessert was either a cheese board(of VERY generous portions) or a trio of desserts, which I had — concept was citrus, chocolate, and once cream. All were very much to my satisfaction though there were fairly unanimous comments that the mains were a little on the drier side. That aside I was happy with the location, atmosphere, meal sizes and flavours. Total price for all this was $ 75.00 a head — this is a little steep if you didn’t take full advantage of all the courses — but if you’re like me that normally isn’t an issue. Would recommend for next Mother’s Day. I’ll be aiming to go back for a regular meal now too.

Compared to its empty mother restaurant, the kiosk in Point Walter is always busy at weekend. They serve hot and cold drinks and also hot and cold food including the kiosk staples of sandwiches, hot chips and chicken. The most popular products here are definitely ice creams in the summer. The service is pretty good considering they are kept on their toes with coffee orders. It is definitely handy and as a result much more popular(or so it appears) than the expensive restaurant.
