Specialties
Walters River Café is a café/restaurant/kiosk that also provides a unique waterfront venue for Perth. Situated in an ‘A’ Class reserve in Bicton on The Swan River the café is in a ramshackle quirky building. Our menu is largely modern Australian with some wonderful Tapas dishes to whet the appetite. Or take a walk with a takeaway coffee and cake fro the kiosk right next door. Walter’s has outside and inside dining areas and is near to beach, parkland, playgrounds and boat ramps. We are situated right on the river with two free car parks, stunning views and walks around parkland. A hidden gem on the City of Perth doorstep. Our point of difference is service. Our functions co-ordinator Deborah Taylor and Restaurant Manager Ben Ober pride themselves on providing the best service for you our guest.
History
Established in 1987.
Walters River Café is located in Point Walter Reserve which back in it’s hey day was referred to the ‘Coney Island of the West’. Trams would travel from Fremantle, there were tearooms and dancing and merriment of all kinds for families young and old. The present ownership has realised the potential for café, restaurant and takeaway outlet along side planning corporate events and weddings. Simple fresh produce sings as the birds do.
