Went for lunch here last week and enjoyed the food. The service was quick. It’s all pre made food in the counter that they warm up, toast and serve up on a plate. For example wraps, fish cakes, sandwiches and a range of salads. It was $ 15 for a fish ale and side salad which was good value, tasty, filling and healthy too! They also have a variety of fresh juices, plus coffee etc. All in all a nice lunch and would go back to try brekkie.

Great coffee and brekky. I love the Bircher muesli or poached eggs on toast. Also fresh and delicious smoothies and fruit juices. Cute little place to catch up with friends for a coffee or quick brekky. Often busy but never a long wait to get a table or order food.

This place is pretty consistently solid in my view. Good coffee 90% of the time and amazing 50% of the time. Good salads, eggs and Dalkeith lifestyle watching.

This place can be very hit or miss. The Coffee: Hit! It is a good coffee and their lattes don’t just taste like warm milk that makes you sleepy instead of caffeined up. Eggs: Miss. This is only after one attempt at ordering the poached eggs but as far as I can tell, you can’t really get a poached egg wrong, can you? Consistency: Miss. I have had good and bad experiences in here from the food to the service. If its a creamy coffee you are after then ignore the 3 stars and apply 5 but if you are looking for a dining experience or a relaxing chill out and catch up spot, revert back to the 3.

The Dalkeith ladies of leisure frequent this inner suburb café. Gossiping over their morning coffee, clad in their designer gym gear and sporting that post workout glow. The coffee here is reputably good and you can usually find a long line of customers snaking out the entrance. I agree it’s an excellent brew, but if only the rest of the café could live up to it. The food is mediocre and feels as though it’s backup for when, god forbid, a customer gets hungry and wants breakfast with their coffee. I tried the beans and poached eggs on a recent visit. The beans were pretty tasty but the eggs overcooked and simply… eggs. Not a whole lot of effort or creativity applied there. My biggest gripe with this place is that they only accept cash. To add insult to injury, there are no prices marked anywhere, which proves a bit of a pickle when you realize you are short of change for your exy breakfast. The life of this café rests in the hands of the barista. As soon as he’s out of there, so are the customers.
